Roar coach Warren Moon admits he’s under pressure to keep his job as Brisbane’s poor A-League run continues.

The Roar’s 2-1 home loss to the Central Coast Mariners on Friday night was their third successive defeat in a run of six matches without a win.

Brisbane has won just three of 16 matches this season and scored just 12 goals.

Should the Melbourne Victory beat the Jets in Newcastle on Sunday, the Roar will finish the weekend in second last spot on the ladder, with only goal difference keeping them ahead of struggling champions Western United.

Moon lamented “individual errors” from his side that proved costly against the Mariners.

However, he said ultimately the buck stopped with him.

“I’ve got take responsibility for the way we’re going,” said Moon, who has been in charge of the Roar for 74 A-League matches since taking over from Robbie Fowler in 2020.

“It’s probably time to find out what changes the club wants to make.

“We haven’t won for six games, we’ve dropped down the ladder ... maybe it is time for a change.”

Roar general manager Ante Kovacevic said Moon was not under “direct” pressure from the club but admitted questions would be asked about the coaching position if Brisbane’s poor run was to continue.

“Ultimately we’re not where we want to be,” Kovacevic said.

“Nobody here, including ‘Moony’ is happy with the situation. Yes, we’ve been unlucky with some decisions but you also need to make your own luck.

“The club doesn’t want to sack him. There is still time to save our season.”

Moon said it would be a “gloves are off” mentality ahead of the Roar’s battle with Sydney FC at Allianz Stadium next Saturday.

“There’s no room for passengers,” Brisbane’s coach said.

“We’re going to put our most aggressive team out on the park. We need to be pressing. We need to be on the front foot.”

Moon hoped that recent signing, Austrian midfielder Marcel Canadi, would be fit enough for some game time against the Sky Blues after arriving in Queensland last month underdone.
Serbian striker Stefan Scepovic, who joined the club less than a week ago, should also be in line for more time on the park after coming on in the 75th minute against the Mariners

Former Socceroos star Robbie Kruse will also be available after expected Roar return was put on hold on Friday night due to the birth of his second child.
