Entering the Round 7 fixture at Oakman Park with a two-point ladder lead, TSS had the chance to put one hand on a fourth-straight first XI crown but were left to rue a disappointing batting performance.

The visitors were never able to get going as they were bowled out for 149 in the final over, with no.8 Finn Smith (41) and all-rounder Jack Sinfield (20) among just five players to reach double figures.

BBC also found the going tough with the bat but managed to build a number of handy partnerships as they reached 6-153 in the 48th over.

Captain Jack Hocart (2-32) and fellow spinner Liam O’Connor (2-33) were the best with the ball for TSS (31 points), who must now win their last two games – away to Gregory Terrace and at home to Ipswich Grammar – and hope ladder-leading BBC (35 points) slip up.

TSS have won seven of the past 10 first XI premierships.
