REARDON CUP’S FINALS X-FACTOR

His class is undoubted and Surfers Paradise star Nathan Reardon now looms as the man to shape the Kookaburra Cup finals.

With 388 runs at 48.50 under his belt despite a disjointed season, the former Queensland batsman showed off his all-round skills with figures of 5-49 for the fourth-placed Demons against Palm Beach Currumbin on Saturday.

BURDON DESTINED TO BE A BULL

Still just 18, Gold Coast all-rounder Hugo Burdon single-handedly steered the Dolphins to a season-saving Queensland Premier Cricket win on Saturday, crafting 115 against Wests to register his second century of the campaign.

The Queensland under-17 and under-19 representative now has 674 runs at 39.65 to go with 18 wickets with his more-than-handy legspin.

WINLESS RIVALS DO DOLPHINS’ MEN MASSIVE FINALS FAVOUR

TIGERS ON PROWL AHEAD OF PLAYOFFS

Broadbeach Robina and Mudgeeraba Nerang have been the top two Kookabura Cup teams throughout 2019-20 but Southport Labrador are building nicely for a premiership assault.

The Tigers, who are likely to finish the regular season in third place, have lost just one of their last 10 games and appear on track for another victory when they resume their battle with Runaway Bay this Saturday.

DEFEAT COULD BE BLESSING FOR DOLPHINS

They say sometimes it’s the loss you had to have and the Gold Coast Dolphins will be hoping it proves to be the case for them in this season’s Katherine Raymont Shield.

The runaway one-day minor premiers produced one of their worst performances of the campaign in Sunday’s penultimate round loss to Ipswich-Logan but with finals looming it could be a blessing in disguise.

TONS OF FUN IN CRUCIAL KOOKABURRA CUP FIXTURES

CANES SHOWING TRUE COLOURS

Winless after 11 rounds of the Kookaburra Cup, 2018-19 minor premiers and grand finalists Alberton Ormeau are finally showing their true colours.

While the Hurricanes remain bottom of the ladder, they secured a breakthrough win against Helensvale Pacific Pines last month and enjoyed another dominant day against Queens on Saturday in reaching 7-293.
