SAMMY-JO Johnson has blasted one of the quickest half-centuries of the Katherine Raymont Shield season to lead Gold Coast to a crushing seven-wicket, bonus-point win over Wynnum-Manly/Redlands.
Coming to the crease at 2-47 in reply to the visitors’ 160, Queensland all-rounder Johnson smashed an unbeaten 67 from 41 balls – highlighted by eight fours and three sixes – as the Dolphins reached 3-161 with more than 26 overs to spare.

The 27-year-old’s knock at Bill Pippen Oval was complimented by opener Tara Wheeler’s composed knock of 53 from 65 balls.
Wheeler had earlier done the damage with the ball, taking 3-31 from 10 overs with her legspin as Wynnum-Manly/Redlands were bowled out for 160 in the 44th over.
