Seven reasons to sign up to SuperCoach BBL before round 2

Missed the opening round of KFC SuperCoach BBL and still want to get involved? Here are seven reasons to take advantage of the first Test break and enter your team before round 2.

“I missed round 1, so I can’t sign up for SuperCoach BBL”.

Wrong.

We’ve all had a mate that thinks because they missed the opening round of the summer, they have to give KFC SuperCoach BBL a miss.

Realistically, you’re probably going to be too far back to have a shot at the $25k overall prize if you sign up before the start of round 2.

But that doesn't mean you shouldn’t give SuperCoach BBL a crack.

Round 2 doesn’t start until the evening of December 19, so you’ve got plenty of time to rally your mates or family, create a league and pick a team of 16 BBL stars.

Here are seven reasons to still sign up:

1. The round prizes

Every round — and there are eight left — the top-ranked team wins $500, which is doubled to $1000 if the coach is subscribed to SuperCoach Plus. Not bad for a few days’ work! If you can claw your way back into the top-111 overall, you’ll win a prize pack courtesy of KFC too. The top-11 coaches every round also win a $15 voucher from KFC.

2. It takes the BBL to another level

Some will tell you the BBL is at its best when the big stars such as Steve Smith, David Warner and Usman Khawaja are available. While we don’t disagree, if you want a reason to ride every moment and follow each match for the rest of BBL13, SuperCoach is for you. T20 games usually provide plenty of thrilling moments and SuperCoach only takes them to the next level of excitement.

3. The banter with family and friends

You could sign up this week, get a group of family or friends together and create a league for bragging rights. Even better, if you’re involved at a cricket club, why not get a bunch of your teammates together and start a league to see who really has the best BBL knowledge? Imagine standing at second slip bragging about your awesome captaincy choice all afternoon.

4. Get your fantasy fix during the summer

SuperCoach NRL and SuperCoach AFL players are hugely passionate about the footy codes. But how do you fill the fantasy void in summer? If you’re not already signed up for SuperCoach NBL, SuperCoach BBL is perfect for that. And the beauty is with a shorter season, it’ll be wrapped up long before you want to start your pre-season homework for AFL or NRL. If you are signed up for NBL already, double the fun by getting involved in BBL.

5. Take on the experts

Ever wanted to see how your cricket knowledge compares to Mr Cricket himself? By signing up for SuperCoach BBL, you can create a league which features Aussie cricket legend Mike Hussey. There’s also a host of experts from the SuperCoach community, Code Sports and News Corp to test yourself against. Just click ‘add experts’ after creating your league, hit the plus button and take them on.

6. You can still make a league and play against your mates

Say you’ve got a few mates who also missed round 1 but want to get involved. Why not start a league, forget about the overall ranks and play for bragging rights (or a small prize. We recommend KFC)? You can make up to 10 leagues too.

7. You become part of Australia’s biggest fantasy community

The SuperCoach community is growing every year and the banter and level of sports knowledge is elite. You only need to plug in SuperCoach on any of the social media platforms to see that. And the best part is even though we’re competitive, the community is also very supportive of each other. We can’t recommend making yourself part of it any more. You don’t need to be a huge numbers guy or a sports nut either, you just have to play your way.
