Time is running out to claim a place in the Draftstars “Big Bash Live Final” for a chance to share in a $150,000 prize pool.

The pool is the largest in the history of Australian daily fantasy sports.

In a special offer for SuperCoach BBL players, Draftstars is offering fast pass entry into the contest for the top three finishers at the end of the regular SuperCoach BBL season valued at $5000.

With just two rounds remaining following the conclusion of Brisbane’s clash with Perth on Friday night, Sprunts Superstars leads the way on 12,189 points.

While players within the top 50 positions will likely take a safer approach to the remaining eight matches, those slightly further down the rankings will need to take risks to threaten the top three.

Nic Maddinson

Melbourne Stars batsmen Nic Maddinson is the perfect man to catapult SuperCoaches into the overall top three rankings. The former Sixer has struggled in his five Big Bash games since returning from a broken arm suffered in December, scoring a cumulative 50 runs. With poor form comes opportunity with Maddinson owned by just 3.4 per cent of players. Importantly, the Stars are the only remaining team in the competition with a double game round to come. Furthermore, Maddinson could jag a few overs with the ball having opened against the Heat last game, albeit bowling the solitary over. Maddinson finished 11th in overall runs scored in the 2017/18 competition at the rapid strike rate of 145.50.

Liam Plunkett

Englishman Liam Plunkett is another to benefit from the upcoming double game round with the Stars. The veteran paceman recorded a monster 111 points in Round 10 thanks to a quality return of 3/20. Incredibly, Plunkett is owned by just 1.1 per cent of coaches making him an ideal point of difference to make up ground on rivals.

Jason Behrendorff

Perth Scorchers quick Jason Behrendorff has proven himself a world-class short-form bowler in recent years, most recently in Australia’s ODI series against India. Behrendorff has been a SuperCoach gun for a number of seasons but is owned by just 7.8 per cent of players, likely due to his recent international duties. The left-arm paceman is a wicket-taking specialist with a consistently low economy rate. He started his SuperCoach BBL campaign with scores of 154 and 98, before lowering his output in recent matches.

Colin Ingram

Adelaide Strikers veteran Colin Ingram is one of the cleanest hitters in the competition making him a SuperCoach weapon. The former South African international has the eighth most runs in the competition with 305 at a strike-rate of 139. Owned by just 8.5 per cent, Ingram is a strong option with Adelaide in striking distance of the top four.

Caleb Jewell

If you’re looking to make up hefty ground on rivals in the final few weeks, a high-risk, high-return option could be to trade D’Arcy Short or Matt Wade to young gun Caleb Jewell. Jewell bats at three for the firing Hurricanes and recorded an unbeaten 61 not out off 38 balls against the Heat two games back. Jewell is owned by just 3.7 per cent of coaches and has the strikepower to be a major point of difference. The Short/Wade to Jewell option isn’t advised for those lingering on the edge of the top three, but if you’re a major outsider to crack the upper end of the rankings it could be worth a shot at the stumps.

Other options: Jake Weatherald, Matt Short, AJ Tye, Steve O’Keefe, Fawad Ahmed.
