THE BEST PERFORMERS FROM LORD’s TAVERNERS
Kade Martin (Ipswich): Darling Downs & SW Queensland stood no chance with Martin at the crease. The Hornets tallied 269 runs in their 50 overs and Martin stood the tallest scoring 100 off 101 balls.
With two sixes and seven fours, the hornet had the opposition bowlers begging for mercy. What a knock it was. Jack Hillier was the Robin to Batman Robin with a nice 41 run knock to pile on the pain.

MEET THE MAN TO RESCUE THE BRISBANE HEAT
James McClure (Ipswich): McClure led the charge with the ball, dismissing three of his rivals top four batters. But, it was the fielding of Ipswich that saw Darling Downs all out for 95, with three run outs highlighting a great day of cricket for the hornets.
Tighe Morris and Luke Ward (Valley): In a narrow loss to the Sunshine Coast these two tallied 35 and 37 respectively, topscoring for their team. They were patient and steady at the crease and as such, gave their team a fighting chance.
Benjamin Baker and Talon Reichert (Sunshine Coast): With three wickets apiece these two tore through Valley and had them all out for 139. They were economical too. Baker was the gamechanger though, with a crucial 38 run knock which gave his team a respectable total of 145. His effort with bat and ball won them the game only just, bowling out Valley before they could reach 145 runs.
Angus Harris (UQ): In a struggling team effort where Western Suburbs had them all out at 140, Harris shone like a beacon with a handy 51 run knock. He gave UQ a chance, but his rivals batting was too strong, chasing down the total with 13 overs to spare.
Joshua Lossberg (Western Suburbs): Lossberg began the proceedings, dismissing his prey with for a golden duck. That was his first of three wickets, with a cracking run out also next to his name.
Jack Sonter and Michael Neumann (Western Suburbs): With 45 and 43 runs respectively this duo had no trouble chasing down 140. They took their time and chose what balls to go after and in doing so steered their team to a great win to sit atop the table.
Alexander Procopis (Norths): Well Toombul didn’t stand a chance with Procopic seeing every ball like a balloon. He smashed his way to 112 off just 91 deliveries and propelled his side to 257 runs. But wait, it get’s better. He does it all.
He dismissed the Toombul top order, one for five runs and two for ducks. With three wickets and 112 runs, he was the unanimous man of the match.
Aiden Mohr and Ryan Summers (South Brisbane): These two put on a great opening partnership, with Mohr putting on 33 and Summers 45. They weathered the storm and played some great shots but perhaps at a rate not quick enough, facing a combined 154 deliveries.
James Crews (Gold Coast): An unbeaten 48 from Crews sealed the deal. Runs were not easy to come by, but Crews dug deep and scored at a commendable 65.75 strike rate. Gold Coast were able to chase down South Brisbane’s 156 with four wickets to spare.
James Eustance and Rowan Grant (Redlands): Batting first, this pair both chipped in with 36 and 29 respectively. They scored quickly too and as such their team ended with 188 runs, a very respectable total.
Harley Malpass and Hayden Steinhardt (Wynnum-Manly): Indeed Malpass is a bit of a cheat code coming in at No.6. Two weeks in a row he has stepped up and it was no different this time with an unbeaten 47 off 48. Steinhardt followed suit with a timely 32 to help his side get there only just in the end. Wynnum-Manly hitting the winning runs on the last ball of the innings.
Toby Lamond (Wide Bay): in an innings where his team only tallied 111, Lamond put in a brilliant 54. At first drop, he was not going to bow down easy.
Thomas Daly, Angus Mclean, Carter Simpson and Bailey Westman-Carter (Sandgate-Redcliffe): These four shared the spoils, all leaving their mark on the match with a great bowling display. Daly got three while Simpson, McLean and Westman-Carter all had two each.
Carter Simpson (Sandgare-Redcliffe): Simpson hit a composed 49 to sail to victory with ease. Opener Kane Neilsen set the foundation with 36 and Simpson, with Billy Nuss, had a nice partnership to finish the job in 25 overs.
SCI-FLEET MOTORS MEN’S FIRST GRADE TWO DAY WRAP
The Gold Coast Dolphins continue to set the rolled gold standard for limited overs cricket in the KFC Queensland Premier Cricket competition.
Gold Coast won a tightly-contested one-day final against Northern Suburbs on Sunday at Alan Pettigrew Oval, to make it back-to-back Kookaburra One Day titles to go with back-to-back T20 titles.
The Dolphins scored 190, with Lachy Aitken hitting a handy 35 in the face of some quick bowling from Connor Sully (4-73). It proved to be enough, as captain Matthew Kuhnemann warmed up for this week’s Marsh Sheffield Shield clash against NSW in Sydney with a matchwinning haul of 4-16 from nine overs.
It came a day after Gold Coast showcased their strength in the Sci-Fleet Motors Men’s First Grade Two Day competition, with Bulls and Heat batsman Max Bryant and Queensland rookie-contracted all-rounder Hugo Burdon hitting centuries in a big total of 3-363 against Valley.
Bryant rattled up 131 from 111 balls while Burdon finished 101 not out.
Reigning Peter Burge Medallist Harry Wood led the charge for Ipswich against Sunshine Coast, hitting a neat 100 to set the platform for a healthy total of 372 against the Scorchers on Saturday.
Half centuries to the experienced Dan Wilson (75) and Queensland Country Under-19 batsman Noah Emmerson (53) helped deliver the batting goods for the Hornets after Wood had done the damage.
Promising wicket-keeper Reuben Burger continues to shine since making a bayside switch in the winert, with the former Redlands product contributing another half century for new club Wynnum-Manly, his third so far this season.
The Sea Eagles got to a competitive 8-327 against Burger’s old club Redlands, with Liam Guthrie (47), Jed Wilson (49), Jackson Plumb (44no) and captain Corey Hunter (40) all contributing.
Bowlers had their day too, with Hobart Hurricanes recruit Paddy Dooley snapping up 6-65 against Sandgate-Redcliffe.
Norths on Saturday had the best of neighbours Toombul, with off-spinner Charles Taylor, son of former Test offie Peter, claiming 3-35 to restrict the ‘Buls to 190.
But promising young pace ace Tom Balkin (3-20) kept this side in the mix with three quick wickets late in the day to leave the Vikings at 3-29.

Wynnum-Manly enjoyed a 92 run win over Gold Coast after Ryall Clodagh (41 not out, 39 balls), Rebecca Riddell (39, 31) and Amy Riddell (28, 15 balls) went at better than a run-a-ball.
Amy Riddell launched three sixes over the boundary and two shots into it during her whirlwind as Wynnum-Manly reached the relative high ground of 4-142.
That trio then combined to take five wickets between them as the Gold Coast were dismissed for 50 despite a gallant Tara Wheeler (35) trying to hold the innings together.
Clodagh claimed 2-7, Rebecca Riddell 2-5 and Amy Riddell 1-0 - all this after Roxanne Thomson (2-10) and Amreen Kahlon (2-10) had done the damage at the top of the order.
Billie Ryan (Valley) claimed four wickets in a solid team performance as her side (4-81) had a six wicket win over Sunshine Coast (9-80).
Ryan took 4-19 around Eleanor Swanpoel (2-14), Christina Coulson (2-11) and Sianna Ginger (1-15) working their way through the top order.
Emma McCord (16) led the Coast’s resistance, but the Valley bowlers and fielders finished on to.
When Valley batted, Ginger (18 not out) and Coulson (15 not out) finished the job after Kiri Holmes (16) had taken on the bowlers earlier.
Tess Cooper was a class above with 48 as Sandgate-Redcliffe (3-99) chased down Wests’ 7-97.
Cooper struck 48 from 52 balls, placing six fours beyond the reach of the Wests’ fielders.
She had help from Charlotte Lutz (28, 27 balls) despite Ashleigh Sims bowling tightly for Wests.
Isabel Goffage (21, 34 balls) top scored for Wests and shared in an opening stand with Ryleigh Wotherspoon (18) before a vital run out.
In University’s (2-99) victory over Ipswich (6-99), opener Emma Jackson (37) set a high standard at the top of the innings, adding 47 for the opening wicket alongside Mia Ryan (18).
Jackson faced just 27 balls during her swift innings and then Katelyn Beaumont polished things off with a brisk 23 not out (22 balls).
Ruby Strange, who earlier scored 13 not out, then kept things tight with 1-10 from four overs while Laura Scheiew and Breanna Craven both claimed two wickets each.
