QUEENSLANDERS will have a chance to meet royalty with Prince Charles and Camilla set to take a public walk through Brisbane next week.

The pair will arrive at Old Government House at QUT Gardens Point on Wednesday 4 April for an official welcoming to Australia which will include an inspection of the guard and 21 gun salute at Kangaroo Point.

The event will be followed by a walk through the City Botanic Gardens where Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk has encouraged visitors to get in position early to secure pole position.

“If you work in the city, I can’t think of a better way to spend a lunch break than strolling down to our beautiful City Botanic Gardens and meeting Their Royal Highnesses,” she said.

“This royal visit also coincides with the school holidays in Queensland and is a great opportunity for children to take part in what promises to be an unforgettable, historic day for our state.”
