THE Commonwealth Games could inspire film and television producers to shoot in Queensland, Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk says.
With celebrities, business leaders and creatives making their way to the Gold Coast for the two-week event, Ms Palaszczuk said there “absolutely” was potential it could lead to the next big project being made here.
The location scout for Thor: Ragnarok and Aquaman is also working for the Games.
“We already have Dora the Explorer filming straight after the Commonwealth Games,” Ms Palaszczuk said.
“This is another opportunity for not only the Gold Coast but really for Queensland to be the centre
of attention.”
Actor and director Simon Baker and singer Delta Goodrem – among others – will travel to Queensland for the Games, but Ms Palaszczuk said Festival 2018 was also drawing many of the country’s top arts performers to the state.
