The time is nearly here for Tim Tszyu to strut his stuff in America for the first time and show the world what he’s made of.

Tim Tszyu and Terrell Gausha both made weight ahead of their showdown on Sunday (AEST) but the Aussie was looking a little drained after shedding those final pounds.

Having dominated all comers at home, Tszyu is making his American debut this weekend as he seeks to take his career to the next level.

Gausha weighed in at 69.49kg while Tszyu hit the scales at 69.58kg. Australian boxing legend Jeff Fenech suggested his countryman looked a little off because of the weight cut, but isn’t concerned about what shape Tszyu will be in when he steps into the ring.

“They both look good on the scales,” Fenech told Main Event host Ben Damon.

“I can see Tim’s face a little bit drawn, making that last bit of weight this morning.

“His opponent looked pretty good and I don’t think he’s struggled as much as Tim has.

“But that’s what it’s all about, you struggle today, but you reap the benefits tomorrow.

“He’ll come in a good 15-20 pounds (6-9kg) heavier, so he’s going to be very, very strong tomorrow.

“It’s the biggest thing to happen for him for a long, long time. It’s an amazing opportunity for Tim to shine here in America.”

Speaking at the press conference earlier in the week, Gausha said he was prepared for whatever Tszyu throws at him.

“I feel like I’m strong and I’m not to be bullied,” Gausha said. “I don’t take no s***.

“When I watch his fights, he brings the pressure — and that’s what he does. He doesn’t do too much that I haven’t seen before.

“I think I’m going to go out there and do some things he hasn’t seen before. I’m sure he’s been watching me, watching my fights, and I think he’s been watching the wrong thing, because it’s going to be a new thing.”

Tszyu, 27, has punched his way to a 20-0 record to start his career, knocking out 15 of his opponents in the process. The super welterweight, like his famous father Kostya, has won over crowds with his all-business, punishing style inside the ring.

“Everything in life has the right time,” Tszyu told the New York Post. “I believe I cleaned out my opponents in Australia, there’s no better time than right now to prove myself against the world.

“I feel like I was getting bored a bit in Australia. That buzz was there always, but it’s just a different feeling. I’m here, away from home, in a different country, it’s a completely different feeling.”

Tszyu has emerged as a top super welterweight contender and rising star in the division. He’s ranked as the No. 1 contender by WBO, No. 3 by IBF and WBC and No. 5 by Ring.

Jermell Charlo, who holds the WBA, WBC and IBF super welterweight world titles, fights WBO titleholder Brian Castano on May 14 for the undisputed super welterweight title.

With a win against Gausha, Tszyu feels he deserves a crack at the winner of Charlo-Castano for the world title.

“I’ve beaten three opponents that have fought for titles,” Tszyu said. “And I’ve beat them more convincingly than the world champions have beaten them, so if I’m not ready, how does that make any sense?”

When is Tszyu vs Gausha and how can I watch?

The fight takes place on Sunday March 27 (AEST).

It’s never an exact science predicting when fighters will enter the ring but if you tune in around 2pm you should be fine. The bout could start as late as 3pm.

You can watch the fight on Foxtel’s Main Event, where it’ll cost you $59.95. You can also pay the same amount to live stream the action via Kayo.

Coverage will begin from 11am on Sunday.
