‘Love her to death’: Tim Tszyu drops huge wedding surprise

Tim Tszyu’s entire life has been about boxing, but the Aussie champ and his partner have changed that dramatically.

Tim Tszyu opens up on surprise wedding plans

In less than 10 days, Tim Tszyu and Alexandra Constantine will be a married couple.

The Aussie champ casually announced his massive news on Thursday when asked about his plans for the future.

Most fans would assume Tszyu would be busy plotting a path back towards a world title fight in 2025, but for the first time in his life, the fight game is not his biggest concern.

The 30-year-old opened up about the surprise wedding news and the way his relationship with Constantine has changed his life when speaking on the No Limit podcast.

When asked by no Limit boss George Rose about what his plans are, Tszyu blurted out the secret with a laugh.

“I’m getting married,” he said.

“Boxing can’t compete with my missus,” he said. “I love her to death and that’s my number one priority right now.

“I always put boxing as number one, throughout my whole life you know, boxing, boxing boxing.

“You come back and you start to think, you know what, family is actually number one.”

The 24-2 fighter joked that his priorities will eventually shift back for him to have boxing “back at No. 1 again”.

Code Sports reports the wedding will happen next weekend on December 21 or December 22.

The Christmas wedding would be a cute way for the couple to tie the knot after Tszyu also popped the question on Christmas Eve in 2023.

Tszyu had kept news of their engagement secret for three months before letting it slip out in March.

He said he put a ring on it during a casual walk together with their French Bulldog Pablo.

The deeply private couple only told a handful of people.

Tszyu has repeatedly described Constantine as his rock and she has been there from the beginning.

The couple met in 2016 when Constantine started taking boxing lessons at Tszyu’s gym in Rockdale, Sydney.

Tszyu said it was love at first sight.

“I normally don’t hold pads for people, so she was lucky she got pads that day,” Tszyu said in 2021.

“Her smile was what actually made me fall in love with her.”

Constantine told News Corp at the time there are misconceptions about how outsiders view their relationship.

“A lot of people say we’re really different, but mentally I think we’re very similar,” she said.

“I’m mentally very strong, and I try to guide all my friends, and he guides his friends as well. When some of our friends are down, we’re like, ‘Think about what you’re trying to achieve and you’re going to get there, you’ve just got to believe in yourself’.

“And we definitely don’t associate ourselves with people who are lazy or not like-minded, we always want to be around positive people, people that are driven and who keep wanting to move forward.

We’re both extremely driven, with Tim, when there is pressure he is always calm.

“The things we talk about at home are like, ‘What are your values and beliefs?’ And we always stay true to that.

“If you remain true to your values, then nothing will get in your way.”

Sydney-born finance graduate Constantine is fluent in three languages — English, French and Macedonian — and went to school at SCEGGS Darlinghurst in Sydney before she studied finance at the University of Technology Sydney.

After delving into a career in property law, Constantine has worked within the finance industry and previously worked for NSW Transport as an Assistant Property Asset Manager.

Constantine has attended all but one of Tszyu’s professional fights.

Tszyu’s mum Natalia this week predicted the couple will one day have children.

“I’m telling you, I won’t be surprised if one day you are talking to me and I’m going to be a grandmother and my grandsons are going to be fighting,” she told Fox Sports.

Constantine made headlines in April for her fierce defence of Tszyu following the first defeat of his career.

Cameras captured the moment Tszyu caught up with Constantine behind the scenes at the T-Mobile Arena immediately after the gory defeat to Sebastan Fundora.

She said, “F*** them. We’ll be back”, appearing to reference the judges who gave Fundora the win.

“The comeback is better than the setback.”

A remarkably composed Tszyu replied that the loss was “part of the journey”.

As first reported by Code Sports, Tszyu said Alexandra has been subjected to vile abuse following his recent loss to Bakhram Murtazaliev.

“There’s been a lot of love, but a lot of people are down too,” he said.

“There’s been a few haters. Not for myself, I’m easy, I don’t mind when people hate – that just means you’re doing something right.

“But not to my missus, not to my family. That’s not right.

“People say things to her and stuff like that, but the fact she’s able to handle it, that shows her character.

“It’s a hard game we’re in. Everyone has bumps in life, everyone fails. Mine are just publicised for the whole world to see and talk about.”

He has taken the loss hard and even apologised to the country.

“I let a lot of people down,” he said.

“We’re all in this journey together, and so many people are invested in me emotionally and it was such a let down on my behalf.

“In training camp, I was on top of the world, but I came in reckless and I let a lot of people down.

“It wasn’t just a loss for me, it was a loss for Australia – everyone felt it. And I don’t want that feeling ever again, so I’ll keep working towards happiness for all of Australia.”
