Ahead of the biggest fight of his career Brock Jarvis has dropped another bombshell following his split from legendary trainer Jeff Fenech – turning to an NRL bad boy to guide his preparation.

Brock Jarvis has dropped another big-fight bombshell with the rising star turning to NRL bad boy Curtis Scott following his shock split with legendary trainer Jeff Fenech.

The move marks yet another twist in the tale of Team Jarvis as he prepares for the biggest fight of his career against former welterweight world champion Keith Thurman on March 12.

As exclusively revealed by this masthead, Jarvis and Fenech split a little over a month before the bout.

As recently as Wednesday though, Jarvis was adamant the four-time world champion would be in his corner on fight night, but it now appears his father, Dom, will be the main man.

Meanwhile, former Storm premiership winner Scott has sensationally applied for a last minute license to be in the Jarvis corner, while Fenech is relegated to the stands.

“I’ve applied for my licence which will come through prior to the fight,” Scott said. “I’ll be there for anything Brock needs.

“He’s such a great mate and we train together all the time.

“I can’t say anything about the Jeff Fenech situation but I’ll have a role in the corner and I’m really looking forward to it.”

Fenech was reluctant to comment on the corner chaos when contacted by this masthead earlier in the week, saying he didn’t want to cause any further disruptions to Jarvis’ preparations.

The 60-year-old was unaware of the latest update when speaking on Friday afternoon.

“Brock makes his own decisions and I’ve got nothing bad to say about Curtis Scott – he’s one of Brock’s very close friends,” Fenech said. “Hopefully he can give him the magic potion.

“I wish them all the best.

“Good luck to Brock, I hope they pull it off.”

Fenech will still attend the fight at the Hordern Pavilion, and is known to be upset at the breakdown of what was once the tightest and most promising partnership in Australian boxing.

He has been in contact with Team Jarvis, but hasn’t actively been involved in any training or sparring since the split.

He is understandably wary about working the corner if he hasn’t been in camp.

“I’d be there for Brock at the drop of a hat – any day,” he said. “But why would I corner him if I haven’t worked with him?

“For me, that would be worse, because I’d be telling him to do things he hasn’t been practising.”
