Fans have all been making the same joke over a photo detail shared by an NFL icon’s 24-year-old beauty pageant contestant girlfriend.

Bill Belichick is in his Taylor Swift era — and it’s blowing people’s minds.

The 72-year-old former New England Patriots coach has been dating 23-year-old Jordon Hudson — a former college cheerleader at Bridgewater State University — and it’s fair to say the relationship has transformed the famously grumpy coach.

The legendary six-time Super Bowl winner was seen wearing Taylor Swift merchandise in a photo Hudson shared on Instagram on Monday (AEST) and it’s something plenty of fans haven’t been able to get their heads around.

Fans were all cracking the jokes about the veteran coach failing in his attempt to show he isn’t out of place alongside his beauty pageant contestant partner.

The NFL TV analyst was all smiles while posing for a selfie with Hudson, sporting a navy jumper with pop star Swift’s name on the front, The New York Post reports.

“Aircraft Carrier hat/T-Swift sweater and they say this man can’t relate to the new generation,” NFL radio commentator Mat Smith posted on X, formerly known as Twitter.

Another posted: “That’s probably his gf’s T-shirt which makes this even cooler.”

One fan wrote: “Obviously not Belichick, this man is smiling in the picture”.

Another posted: “Oh my, I saw another post of this with that shirt but figured he took his granddaughter to a show or something... now this pic shows up and its a girlfriend? okay.”

Another posted: “Bill Belichick is in a Taylor Swift shirt. Are we sure he’s okay?”

The term “Belichick” was trending in the United States on Twitter and commentators, including Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy, enjoyed all of it.

Belichick reportedly attended one of Swift’s concerts in Amsterdam in July.

Hudson shared the photo as part of an Instagram collage that captured her summer of fun.

The couple, whose relationship became public in June, posed together in a number of snapshots, including a photo of them staring at each other and smiling.

Hudson also shared solo shots of Belichick hiking and golfing at the Sankaty Head Golf Club in Massachusetts — where they took a photo in front of the Sankaty Head Lighthouse.

Belichick and Hudson made headlines in June when they were seen enjoying a boat ride together aboard the eight-time Super Bowl-winning coach’s $225,000 boat, named VIII Rings.

That same month, Hudson also joined Belichick at Tom Brady’s Patriots Hall of Fame induction ceremony in Foxborough on June 12.

They were seen together on a number of occasions throughout the summer, including when they rode bikes together in the beach town where Belichick built a compound in Nantucket in 2018.

This marked the first summer in decades that Belichick wasn’t preparing for the upcoming NFL season — aside from his numerous broadcasting jobs — following a mutual split with the Patriots after 24 years.

While the NFL Combine took place in Indianapolis in March, Belichick was seen taking in the 2024 Coastal At The Capitol cheer and dance event in National Harbor, Maryland.

Hudson reportedly was competing in the event at the time.

While romance appears to be blossoming there are many fans who continue to claim the relationship violates the laws of nature.

Former NFL offensive lineman-turned-Fox Sports analyst Mark Schlereth did not hold back in July, calling Belichick an “absolute clown”.

“I think he’s a pig,” Schlereth said during a recent instalment of his and Mike Evans’ 104.3 The Fan sports radio show in Denver, per Awful Announcing. “That’s disgusting … That’s just awful. What are you doing?

“Plus, you just look like an absolute clown.

“What is wrong with you? He was 48 when she was born? She was a baby, and he was 48.”

Belichick — who is expected to eventually return to coaching — has yet to address their relationship publicly.

It came after his split from Linda Holliday, whom he dated for 16 years, in 2022.

The year prior, Belichick and Hudson met on a plane ride in 2021.

The future Hall of Fame coach signed her philosophy textbook at the time, and they exchanged numbers and kept in touch, according to TMZ, which published a photo of the pair sitting next to each other on the plane.

Hudson has been living in Belichick’s home since around the start of the new year, TMZ said in a separate report.
