AFL: The best and worst Hawthorn guernseys in 100-year history in the V/AFL

The Hawks have worn some magnificent jumpers over their history in the V/AFL. But they’ve also released some shockers. Take a look at them here and VOTE to have your say.

Fair to say Hawthorn has played in some polarising outfits over the years.

As the Hawks celebrate 100 years in the V/AFL against Richmond on Sunday, we’ve looked back at the best and worst guernseys the club has worn.

PINK RIBBON JUMPER: 2016-2018

The Hawks wore a special pink guernsey across three seasons in support of Tasmanians affected by cancer.

Despite brown and pink not being the best colour combination, the jumper was for a terrific cause.

INDIGENOUS JUMPER: 2023

This guernsey was mighty close to making the top five.

But one of the many magnificent Indigenous jumpers across the years had to at least get a mention.

PRE-SEASON JUMPER: 2002/03

Another pre-season jumper with a fair bit of creativity attached.

The Hawks wore a T-shirt style of the same design in previous seasons, but players became too hot and the guernsey was ditched at halftime of its final game.

This also was close to making the top five — possibly a shout for a retro round flashback?

MENACING HAWK JUMPER: 2011-2014 and 2024

The Hawks brought the ‘Menacing Hawk’ jumper back last season due to its popularity amongst the brown and gold army.

The clash guernsey was replaced in 2015 by the infamous ‘Power Rangers’ kit.
