ROUND 10 UNIQUE OF THE WEEK

Two of the top three scoring players this round were two of the most-owned players in the competition, with the ruck combo of Grundy and Gawn dominating their respective matches - but who were the stand-outs with limited ownership?

DEF: NATHAN WILSON | FREMANTLE DOCKERS | $362,000 | 131 points | 0.5% ownership

This analysis could easily have been about Luke Ryan again, with the Freo defender notching his third score in excess of 130 points, and yet his ownership level remains at less than 5% in 2019. Instead, his teammate and former Giant Wilson gets the gong with his second hundred point game for the season. He’s now averaging just on 70 points per game for 2019, some ten less than last year, and there’s no way he should be so low - a runner as quick, skilled, and adaptable as Wilson should be earning plenty of points rebounding off that back flank. Scores of 121 and 87 in the last fortnight are much more encouraging. At this price point, and with the bye rounds coming up, Wilson is a potential downgrade option.

MID: CAM ELLIS-YOLMEN | ADELAIDE CROWS | $477,400 | 134 points | 0.1% ownership

Keeping Bryce Gibbs out of the side at the moment, CEY has assumed a key role in the Crows’ best midfield rotation. He only has three scores below 100 for the season thus far, and 134 is the most he has ever scored in a single game. If was available as a Dual Position Player he’d be a downgrade option, but you’d want to see some more of this high-scoring ability in coming weeks before even considering him. By then his price might have moved him out of the downgrade market and into an injury-replacement of a fallen premium, if you should be so unlucky as to lose one of your standard movers in the middle.

RUC: TOM BELLCHAMBERS | ESSENDON BOMBERS | $478,000 | 124 points | 1.1% ownership

Bellchambers is slowly going about getting some consistency in his scoring output, with three scores in excess of 95 in five of his last six games. Bellchambers is priced at less than $500,000 and has the fourth-best five game rolling average of all ruckman, a mere six points behind Goldstein, but $50,000 cheaper than him, and over $200,000 cheaper than the top-priced player in the game, Brodie Grundy. If either he or other SuperCoach favourite Max Gawn was to, heaven forbid, go down with an injury, Bellchambers would be a replacement that could potentially be relied upon to score consistently, while also freeing up a lot of cash to invest elsewhere.

FWD: DARCY PARISH | ESSENDON BOMBERS | $421,000 | 137 points | 0.7% ownership

Winning more clearances than anyone at the G, Parish scored the most SuperCoach points he has in his entire career, with the Tigers now the sixth side that he’s brought up the hundred against. He’s a frustrating player because you can see the ability to get the ball and influence the contest, but then there’s games where he simply goes missing. But it was a meritorious performance in the big Dreamtime game - Parish did everything except for getting on the scoreboard, leading the way for the Bombers in SuperCoach points, disposals, contested possessions, clearances, stoppages, and was equal second for inside 50s. More of that please and he looms as a serious Point of Difference.
