SuperCoach 2025: Cult figure the SCodfather reveals his starting team

It’s that time of year again when confusion sets in.

Just Calm a Down!

One week is a long time in football. I can assure you that one hour is a long time in SuperCoach, as my team has gone through changes every 15 minutes since the SuperCoach app opened.

In saying this, I will present to you today my latest team. This team is subject to change once I see the two opening round games, plus it is also subject to change once the team sheets for round 1 appear, as I have to make sure that every rookie I select in my starting team plays in round 1. They also need to have good job security as I need them to play a minimum of seven games to generate me enough cash so that I can upgrade them.

THE PLAN

I have a golden rule which I never follow, and this year history will repeat itself, and this is to never start a player priced at over $600k.

My second golden rule is to make sure that every player I pick in my starting team has value.

The definition of value for me is as follows:

1. The player must not lose cash, because I don’t want other teams getting a player I own cheaper.

2. The player must be able to rise in value, because I want other teams paying more for a player I own.

3. Premium players must be able to hold his price, because I want other teams to pay the same amount dollars that I paid for my player.

If a player fits these criteria then the recruiting manager at absmagic will have a discussion with that player’s manager.

I’m sorry for boring you with all this information, but there is more.

One last Criteria – I have to recruit all my players as if I’m shopping at the markets and the Reject Shop. No going on a shopping spree at Myer for me.

Absmagic’s super spuds for 2025.

BACKLINE

Harry Sheezel, Lachie Whitfield, Dayne Zorko (the Magnificent) – I Tink they all hold their value.

Harry Perryman and Matt Roberts – I see them averaging 95-105.

Rookies are subject to being picked in round 1.

MIDFIELD

Jordan Dawson, Ed Richards, Connor Rozee, Clayton Oliver, Adam Cerra – I see all these players rising in value, and a few of these players are PODs (points of difference).

Rookies: Angus Sheldrick, Mitch Knevitt and Hugh Boxshall – I see these players as reasonable scoring rookies.

Bench: Angus Hastie, Lucas Camporeale, Elijah Hewett – I Tink they should be able to make between $130k-$150k each.

RUCKS

Toby Nankervis and Tom De Koning – I Tink they both offer value and can have a huge impact early on.

Bench: Harry Boyd – hopefully he plays enough games to make some cash.

FORWARDS

Jason Horne-Francis (the Horney man), Izak Rankine, Jack Macrae, Caleb Daniel – I Tink all four will be top four forwards this year.

Rookies: Conor Stone and Sam Davidson – Both should be able to score at 60-plus.

Bench: Aidan Johnson and Tom Edwards – I Tink they should be able to make between 130k-$150k each.

FLEX

Matt Flynn – I’m not liking this pick at all. It makes me very nervous picking him,

however if he fails, I can always go down to one of those expensive rookies that may have impressed.

And speaking of expensive rookies, unfortunately we cannot afford any of them at absmagic as we only shop cheap and we are what others would call a tight ass.

We have also passed on all the Big name Premos because we only recruit spuds at absmagic :)
