The Bombers youngster, who’s set to fill the void left by the injured Patrick Ambrose, showed good signs in Friday night’s Marsh Series over West Coast, scoring 61 SuperCoach points.
At $189,000 he’s an expensive rookie but could be worth the extra investment if he puts in another good showing in Essendon’s final pre-season hitout against Geelong on March 9.
Zerk-Thatcher wasn’t the only Bomber to impress in the victory, with midfielders Darcy Parish and Andy McGrath showing they could be on the verge of breakout SuperCoach seasons.

Parish ($465,400 FWD/MID) scored an incredible 115 points from 29 disposals and a goal in just 65 per cent match time, while McGrath ($399,400 MID) scored 94 from 24 disposals, while he also had an equal game-high seven clearances.
West Coast star Shannon Hurn showed why you can’t forget about him in defence, scoring 95 points from 21 disposals in just 83 per cent of game time.
In his first outing in Eagles colours, Tim Kelly picked up from where he left off at Geelong by scoring 100 after 27 disposals and a goal.
