The Club is aiming to surpass its all-time membership record of 14,131 which was set in their inaugural season in 2011.

Now with under 50 members to go until the club achieves a new milestone, Suns rookies Matt Rowell and Izak Rankine have called in the big guns.

On Wednesday, the talented duo phoned up AFL CEO Gillon McLachlan and asked him to pledge his allegiance to the club – the league’s top dog gleefully agreeing.

“Are we doing this now? Do I need a credit card,” McLachlan joked.

“I’d love to become a member.

“What you’re bringing to the game and the fun and excitement, not just in Queensland but nationally, it’s pretty exciting.”

2019 Number one draft pick Rowell then put on his best salesperson impression, asking if McLachlan would be interested in a family membership.

“You know I’m a sucker for this stuff,” McLachlan said.

“Some of the most exciting talents coming into the AFL in a long time.”

McLachlan requested to receive a player badge of both rising stars before asking Rankine how he planned to tackle the upcoming footy bonanza which will see 20 straight days of footy.

“I love footy so I’m keen for it,” the goal sneak replied.

“I’ve been out for 18 months now so I want to catch up on as much footy as possible.”
