THE QFA Division 2 South finals are here and four Gold Coast teams remain in the hunt for the premiership.

Burleigh will host Carrara at Bill Godfrey Oval in the first elimination final while Coolangatta will welcome Bond University to Eximm Oval in the other.

Little separates the teams, so who will break open the games and prove to be the match winners for their side? We reveal each team’s x-factors here.

CARRARA SAINTS

JORDAN ANDREWS

A centre half-forward who is made for finals. Andrews hadn’t played football in around 18 months due to an injury sustained while playing for Broadbeach and he is working his way into form nicely. Andrews has an enormous work rate, presents well and has good footy IQ.

JAYDEN BRENNAN

A midfielder who excels on both the inside and outside of contests. Brennan has a good footy brain and puts himself in the right spot to make an impact on the game. Coach Wayne Petterd said he had some of the same traits as Collingwood captain Scott Pendlebury, boasting time with the footy in hand.

BOND UNIVERSITY

RHYS KING

An inspirational leader who likes big moments. The bigger the game, the more King wants to step up for his teammates. The midfield-forward has been in his usual stellar form in 2020 and even spent time tagging Burleigh gun Regan Salter in Round 6, shutting him down effectively.

COOLANGATTA

COREY JOYCE

The younger brother of Gold Coast Suns AFL player Jesse, Corey has been fantastic for Coolangatta in 2020. The halfback-flanker is incredibly clean with the ball, is a good decision maker and has pace to burn. Coolangatta coach suggested he may be even better than brother Jesse, only giving up some size to his older brother.

ETHAN SEKAC

An 18-year-old half-forward with a lot of energy and presents all day. Sekac is two games back from an ankle injury that was expected to keep him out longer. Despite the injury the goal kicker is getting better each week. Sekac is quick, marks the ball well and will likely draw attention from teams at a higher level should he continue developing the way he is.
