Melbourne trades pick 8 in return for three draft selections
Melbourne has secured a draft coup a week before the event by trading away one of its top 10 selections in a deal involving Fremantle and Adelaide.

Melbourne has traded pick 8 in return for three other selections in a draft coup for the Demons.
The three-way deal with Fremantle and Adelaide will see the Demons swap their top-10 selection in return for picks 10, 28 and a future-fourth round selection.
It means the Demons will pocket an extra second and fourth round draft pick in return for moving down two spots in the first round in next week’s national draft.
The Demons are eyeing gun tall Luke Jackson with its pick 3.
Pick 28 comes from Adelaide as part of the deal and the future-fourth round pick will arrive from the Dockers via the Crows.
The Herald Sun revealed yesterday the Demons were open to trading its pick 8 for multiple selections.

The move allows Fremantle to move up from pick 10 to pick 8 to ensure it can take a player before a bid comes for academy prospect Liam Henry.
Carlton was threatening to take Henry at pick 9, but Freo’s move means it will snare two gun players at 7 and 8 before any bid for Henry.
