J ack Hombsch:
What have you been doing to keep busy?
“I have been working out and doing some gardening around the house. My partner and I have planted a vegetable patch that has been keeping us busy. We have been doing a Harry Potter movie marathon as well.”
How are you keeping fit at home?
“The club has been great by letting us take home some equipment from the club gym. I have borrowed a rower and a pilates reformer, that I use a couple times a week, along with three weekly runs at Pizzey Park with another teammate.”
What was it like the day you signed with the Suns?
“The day I signed with the club was a bit of whirlwind. The opportunity to come up here only arose in the last couple days of trade period, so I had a lot to organise in a pretty short period of time. I couldn’t be happier with my decision though.”
Anthony Miles:
What have you been doing to keep busy?
“I’m entering my final year of a teaching degree. I’m currently doing two subjects so that’s filling in some time. I’m doing plenty of fishing out the back of where I live and I’m coming back from surgery on my pectoral so my rehabilitation has filled in plenty of time. If all that fails my wife generally has a list of jobs for me to do around the house.”
How are you keeping fit at home?
“I’m running with George Horlin-Smith every second day and I’ve doing Zoom ride workouts with some staff and players which has been good.”

What was it like the day you signed with the Suns?
“During the trade period both parties were pretty happy with where things were at and the plan was to do it late in the trade period. However, it got done on the first day which was great for me. I had a meeting with (coach) Stuart Dew, (football manager) Jon Haines and (list manager) Craig Cameron prior and I was extremely impressed with where the club was, and is heading, so when it got done I was obviously thrilled.”

Darcy Macpherson:
What have you been doing to keep busy?
“During the COVID-19 isolation period I have been keeping busy by exercising, gaming and reading books. The last book I just finished was the Resilience Project, a book about finding happiness through gratitude, empathy and mindfulness.”
How are you keeping fit at home?
“We have been assigned to complete four home gym sessions a week. We also do two cross training sessions that consist of a bike ride, boxing or a metabolic session (like F45). We have also have been doing some team challenges as a club. We all log into Zoom and complete the challenges. Some of the challenges were supercalifragilisticexpialidocious.
You had too complete an exercise for each letter of the word as quick as possible. Another one was called the deck of cards. We had to complete the whole deck of cards with exercises assigned to a number. That was tough.”

What was it like the day you signed with the Suns?
“The day I got drafted by the Suns was one of the most nerve racking days of my life. I was sitting there with my brother, best mate and mum waiting to see if my name was called out. I’m so thankful for the opportunity I have received off the Suns and I couldn’t be happier.
Sam Day:
What have you been doing to keep busy?
“With a lot of extra time at home and an unfinished yard it’s given me time to get some planting and yard maintenance done. There’s something really satisfying about doing some work and having it finish up nicely. I’ve got my best mate Max, he’s a 4-year-old German Shepherd with plenty of energy. He’s loving all of the extra attention.”
How are you keeping fit at home?
“Working out has been different but the initiative from the guys at the club has been super. We check in on Zoom a few times a week to do anything from bike workouts, gym sessions to group challenges.”
What was it like the day you signed with the Suns?
“Being one of the few boys left at the club who started in 2010, things have changed a lot. Draft night was surreal and I’m just thankful I was able to have my family there with me to share in such a huge milestone of my life.”

Nick Holman:
What have you been doing to keep busy?
“I just got a new puppy so I have been spending plenty of time with her to kill time. I’ve also been out in the garden a bit. I’ve made a little built-up area out the back after cutting down some tree’s the week before.”
How are you keeping fit at home?
“My workouts have been in a consistent routine which has helped me with motivation too. I do most of my running with Brayden Fiorini, then come home, have something to eat and smash out weights before lunch. I’ve also got a bike and a boxing bag so I use those on my ‘off legs’ days, sometimes using Zoom with a few boys on the bike.”
What was it like the day you signed with the Suns?
“I was in Adelaide in 2017, and went to my mate Chris Kings house. I had no idea if I was going to go or not and I knew the Suns were the only team talking to me, so I was eagerly awaiting their pick. It was the rookie draft so we had to keep refreshing the computer and I remember pick 19 was the start of the second round so it took 30-40 seconds to load that 19th pick. Once me and my mate saw my name I started crying and he was going nuts. All of a sudden my phone was going crazy, that was a great day and one I’ll never forget.”
