THE Harlem Globetrotters have given two Gold Coast Suns players their tick of approval should they ever find the urge to venture off the field and onto the basketball court.

Young Suns Brayden Crossley and Wil Powell took part in a light hearted training session with Globetrotters Dragon Taylor and Ice Hrynko at the Gold Coast Sports and Leisure Centre on Friday.

It was a lesson in skills and showmanship and Taylor said the Suns pair had something to offer on the court.

“We taught Brayden and Wil some tricks. They were pretty good at it,” Taylor said.

“They have some skills they can bring to the table with the Globetrotters.”

Crossley wasn’t so confident he could make the transition.

“They talked to us about what they do and showed us some skills,” Crossley said.

“It was pretty fun. They made me and Wil look pretty average when we were out there.”

The Globetrotters are in town spruiking their Australian tour and will return on April 11 for their Gold Coast show.

“We have a lot of crowd interaction and a lot of amazing ball handlers like Ice. My specialty is flying high,” Dragon said.

Hrynko said she had been impressed by the city and the people on the Gold Coast.

“This is my first time here and I’m loving it,” Hrynko said.

“The weather is amazing, the scenery is amazing and the people here are so nice. It’s very welcoming.”
