Gold Coast Suns reveal indigenous clash guernsey for the 2020 AFLW season

THE Suns will use an indigenous-themed clash guernsey for their inaugural AFLW season in 2020.
The guernsey was designed by local Bundjalung/Yugambeh woman Christine Slabb and represents the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
The predominantly blue guernsey symbolises the water which is an important pillar of the Gold Coast and northern New South Wales, joined by the sun which signifies people coming together with a cultural connection.
Indigenous AFLW player Paige Parker helped launch the new clash guernsey and said she couldn’t wait to wear it on the field in 2020.

“I’m very proud and honoured to be wearing this guernsey,” Parker said.
“I think it would mean a lot not only for our families but also for the Gold Coast community.
“It’s a huge honour to be able to wear something that acknowledges our first nation’s people.”
The Suns will wear the clash guernsey for the club’s inaugural Round 1 match against GWS on Saturday, February 8.
