THE AFL season is on halt for now but the Bulletin surveyed some of Gold Coast’s players to determine who was set to have a big year in 2020.

There is a common theme when it comes to who they believe would light up the AFL this year and who was the biggest pest at the club.

BRAYDEN FIORINI:

Breakout player: Both Matt Rowell and Noah Anderson are looking good and a lot of people forget about Izak Rankine. I can’t wait for him to get fit and get out there.

Biggest pest at the club: Nick Holman. He is good fun, though.

JARROD WITTS:

Breakout player: Seeing Izak (Rankine) out training (before his injury) had been good. Even Also David Swallow. I haven’t seem him in this good condition ever. There is plenty of improvement in us older guys too.

Biggest pest: Darcy (Macpherson) is always popping up. Alex Sexton and Nick Holman are among the usual types. Brandon Ellis has been a great addition to our group. He has a happy go lucky attitude and it’s rubbing off on the group. He knows when to switch on and when to switch off and enjoy himself.

DAVID SWALLOW:

Breakout player: Matt Rowell will be great for us. He has shown that through the pre-season and has a great attitude and work ethic.

Biggest pest: Darcy (Macpherson). Darcy is Darcy and we love him.

BEN KING:

Breakout player: Matthew Rowell and Noah Anderson. It’s no surprise but both of them have been impressive so far and I’m looking forward to what they can do.

Biggest pest: Darcy Macpherson takes the cake for that. He runs amuk that bloke but he is a good bloke.
