The 25-year-old was unresponsive at the time and was in a “serious condition”, but has recovered following the incident and ran light laps at Cats training on Monday.

The Herald Sun reported Stengle was “not out partying with any teammates” and “there are suggestions Stengle’s drink may have been spiked”.

“Paramedics responded to reports of an incident in Geelong at around 2am on 28 July 2024,” an Ambulance Victoria statement said.

“One man was transported to University Geelong Hospital in a serious condition.”

Stengle recently re-signed with Geelong for another five seasons after lucrative interest in the free agent from rivals including St Kilda.

“The club acknowledges a health incident involving Tyson Stengle over the weekend,” the Cats said on social media.

“Most importantly Tyson is okay and attended the club on Monday.

“The club’s priority is Tyson’s mental health and wellbeing.”

He is an All-Australian contender in 2024, leading all small forwards with 37 goals.
