Brisbane Lions defender Nat Grider played a game of AFLW just days after she was hospitalised following a car crash.
The 23 year old shocked her social media followers on Sunday night with an Instagram post showing images of her in a hospital bed and the wreckage of a car being towed away.
In the caption of the post, which has since been deleted, Grider wrote: “If there’s anything this week taught me it’s to bloody enjoy it, not the start we wanted but beyond grateful to run out there this weekend & most importantly bring on round 2.
“Ps if anyone’s got a cart for sale hmu (hit me up).”
The image of Grider in hospital showed her with a soft collar around her neck and cannula in her right arm, giving a thumbs up to the camera.
It is understood the accident occurred during the week and the club managed to keep it under wraps until Sunday night, when Grider posted to Instagram.
A club spokesperson told this masthead that Grider was medically cleared to play in Sunday’s season-opener against North Melbourne at Brighton Homes Arena and that she passed all relevant concussion screening.
The defender had 15 disposals in the 44-point loss to the Kangaroos.
