Geelong will hand a debut to another obscure local draftee, with Oli Wiltshire set to play his first game against Carlton on Sunday.
The small forward was plucked out of Barwon Heads in the Bellarine Football League after a sizzling 2023 campaign saw him boot 51 goals in 18 games as a midfielder.
It follows a similar pathway to Tom Stewart, who was drafted from South Barwon in the Geelong Football League.
The Cats drafted Wiltshire with No.61 in the 2023 draft and the forward spent last season battling injuries in the VFL.

But Wiltshire’s stunning start to the season at the reserves level has prompted his selection as an emergency in three of the past four weeks.
He has kicked 7.6 in his three games so far this season, as well as collecting 23 touches against Casey and 17 disposals against Sandringham.
He was well held last week against Box Hill but still booted two goals, including a classy finish on the run to open Geelong’s account for the day.
Wiltshire has been brought in to replace Gryan Miers, who suffered a sickening concussion against Hawthorn on Easter Monday.
Hawks midfielder Conor Nash received a four-game suspension for the hit, with young midfielder Henry Hustwaite coming in to replace the Irishman.
Jack Ginnivan’s VFL stint lasted just one week, coming in for Luke Breust who has been managed.
Changkuoth Jiath has been omitted, while Bailey Macdonald will play his first game of the year.
Geelong has also recalled Oisin Mullin, who was a late out last week, as well as Jhye Clark, for Mitch Knevitt and Ted Clohesy.
Harry McKay is Carlton’s only inclusion after his concussion, replacing Lewis Young in the side.
Ben Paton will return to the Sydney side to face Gold Coast, replacing Sam Wicks.
Joel Hamling has also been dropped for Peter Ladhams, while Aaron Francis has been named to play a full game after his substitute heroics last week.
Gold Coast has entered the game unchanged, resisting bringing in Brayden Fiorini after the midfielder collected 43 and 47 touches in the past two VFL games.
West Coast has dropped Harry Edwards and Tom Gross to bring back Tom Cole and Noah Long, while Oscar Allen also returns and Tim Kelly is out through injury.
