Sydney superstar Chad Warner has turned his back on a return home to Western Australia and inked a two-year extension with the Swans.
Warner was being lured by Fremantle and West Coast and speculation of a move accelerated after he purchased a multimillion-dollar home in Perth.
But the 23-year-old has fended off those offers and decided to remain a Swan for a further two years.
Warner says he has “great belief in the direction” the Swans are heading under new coach Dean Cox.
“I’m really happy to be staying. I’ve loved every minute of my time at the Swans and I’m excited for what’s ahead,” Warner said.

“From the moment I arrived six years ago all the people – the players, coaches, and staff – have embraced me and helped me feel at home.
“I have great belief in the direction we are heading and know we have exciting times to come.”
Sydney general manager Leon Cameron says the Swans are excited to see what a still developing Warner can deliver.
“Chad is an elite talent with an exceptional work ethic, so we are rapt to have him commit to Sydney for a further two years,” Cameron said.
“He is a popular and respected member of our playing group, who has been a key contributor in our midfield for several seasons now.
“At just 23, Chad has already made a huge impact, and with his best football still ahead of him, we’re excited to see his journey continue in Sydney.”
Warner was out of contract but still would have needed to facilitate a trade if he did want to return to his home state.
