Popular SuperCoach rookie Joe Richards is set to miss a month of football after picking up an injury in his side’s draw against Fremantle.
Richards had been electric in his three games since debuting against West Coast, and was the most popular SuperCoach trade-in option last week.
Collingwood’s injury report, released on Monday night, said Richards experienced some foot soreness after playing out the game.
“Scans have confirmed that he has sustained a fourth metatarsal fracture in his foot and is expecting to make a return between Rounds 16 and 17,” the club said.
Jordan De Goey will miss another month while big man Mason Cox is set to miss six weeks with an MCL injury, in a major blow to the Pies’ big man stocks.
Brody Mihocek, Tom Mitchell, Will Hoskin-Elliott and pre-season signing Josh Eyre are all expected to be available from Round 13 onwards.
For those who missed on the exciting Wangaratta product but were looking to trade him in, a swap to fellow forward Harvey Harrison, who scored 99 on the weekend, could be on the cards, but the thousands of coaches who already brought him in will be scratching their heads with the injury coming at the worst possible time as the byes arrive.
In more pain for SuperCoaches, Ivan Soldo got through limited minutes in the SANFL and is expected to line up in the Power’s Thursday night clash with Carlton, which could mean popular rookie Jordan Sweet makes way for the former Tigers big man, with Charlie Dixon also expected to return and provide ruck support.
