The Adelaide Crows have pulled off a mammoth upset, defeating last year’s grand finalists by one point in a nailbiting finish.

Adelaide has pulled off a huge upset to defeat the Western Bulldogs by one point in Ballarat on Saturday afternoon.

The Bulldogs were heavy favourites to win but they had their work cut out for them against a strong Crows outfit.

In what was a low-scoring affair, both teams were barely separated and the halftime score was 25-25.

The Crows edged in front during the second half but opened the door for the Bulldogs with some inaccurate goal kicking.

It looked like the Bulldogs might steal the victory when Adam Treloar and Josh Dunkley kicked plucky goals in the last quarter.

But Adelaide key forward Taylor Walker sealed a thrilling 63-62 win for the Crows with a superb set shot goal from a tight angle in the dying minutes.

He finished with three goals for the game and became the first Adelaide player to bring up the 500-goal milestone.

The Crows have defeated the Bulldogs and Richmond in the past two weeks and sit just outside the top eight after a promising start to the season.

Meanwhile, the Dogs, last year’s grand finalists, currently sit 11th on the ladder and have only won two games.

It’s the first time Adelaide has won back-to-back games since Rounds 3 and 4 last season and puts them in the hunt for a finals berth.

That is a huge win for Adelaide.
