Adelaide Crows pre-season news: Luke Pedlar signs two-year contract extension

‘Now he’s in a position to play at a high level on a consistent basis’ – the Crows are expecting Luke Pedlar to take another step forward in 2024. And he’ll be around a little longer after that.

Adelaide has re-signed hard nut Luke Pedlar for two years.

The South Australian forward/midfielder, who enjoyed a breakout 2023 campaign, kicking 25 goals from 21 matches, was due to come out of contract at the end of next season.

Pedlar, 21, is now tied to the Crows until the end of 2026.

Taken at pick 11 in 2020, Pedlar played five games across his first two, injury-affected seasons before missing just two this year.

Adelaide list boss Justin Reid said the attributes Pedlar showed as a junior, such as his strength and explosiveness, really shone in 2023, taking his game to a new level.

“In his first two years on the list, Luke worked really hard at getting his body ready for the rigours of AFL footy,” Reid said.

“Now he’s in a position to play at a high level on a consistent basis and we look forward to his continued growth in coming years.”
