2025 Langer Trophy live stream: Keebra Park SHS v Stretton State College, Round 5

Keebra Park are well and truly ‘embracing the challenge’ of facing Stretton State College when Langer Trophy action returns on Wednesday. Watch a triple header LIVE here.

Two teams at opposite ends of the ladder will face off on Wednesday when Keebra Park hosts Stretton State College in round 5 of the Langer Trophy.

Keebra has stormed out of the blocks winning all four games so far, while Stretton has yet to claim a win in its first season in the competition.

The Keebra v Stretton clash will form part of a Wednesday triple header on KommunityTV, with both the Walters Cup and Schoolgirls Cup games also available live and exclusive from 2.30pm.

Stretton coach Rhys Jacks is aware of the challenge which awaits his side and expects his players to step up for the challenge.

“After three weeks off the boys are definitely itching to get back out there and finish the season off,” he said.

“The boys want to challenge themselves against the best, if you want to be the best you’ve got to play the best and that is this week against Keebra.

“A few of their boys were in the Queensland Schoolboys team so the boys will come up against the guys who are the best in the state for their age groups.”

Jacks said the team is purely focusing on themselves and what they can do to gain confidence for the back end of the season.

“We have been able to take little positive areas out of all four games so far and I guess the big step up is being able to do it for a whole game.

“If you can do a few really good things against an opposition like (Keebra), it holds us in really good stead to finish strong for the final two games

“Obviously it is a massive step up for our school, we’ve been chasing it for a little while and we’re really proud to be here.”

At the other end of the ladder, Keebra Park coach Peter Norman wants his side to pick up where they left off as they begin work to ensure they are in top shape when finals roll round.

“We’ve laid a really good platform, we started the season strongly but if we come out and go backwards from here that’s obviously not what you want,” he said.

“If you look at Marsden and PBC (Palm Beach Currumbin) over the last couple of years, they’ve gone on a run from places as low as fourth or fifth.

“So it is not how you start, it’s how you finish and making sure we get five per cent better each week as well.”

Fresh off the back of a stunning performance for the Queensland Schoolboys team, Keebra Park fullback David Bryenton will be a player to watch in this week’s game.

The electric back has been one of the Langer Trophy’s best players this year and is a key reason why his school is on top of the ladder after four games.

“I’m really impressed with him, he’s such a great kid and obviously a talented footballer,” Norman said.

“Off the field he’s a really good kid as well and wants to get better every week.

“He’s a great kid so I was really happy when he was named in that Australian Schoolboys team.”
