AN up-and-coming Gold Coast DJ is so “frustrated” at a lack of music festivals in the city he’s created his own.
Tom Bromley, 21, started touring at the age of 17 and went around Australia to support some of the country’s best DJs, including Will Sparks, Timmy Trumpet and Major Lazer.
Bromley said there was a “lack of opportunities to perform in front of large crowds” in his hometown.

So this Saturday the sparks will fly as Bromley throws the switch to host Send It, his inaugural electronic dance music (EDM) festival, at The Meadows at the Gold Coast Turf Club.
“We’ve worked countless hours, weeks and months to put together something for the Gold Coast to enjoy this Australia Day weekend,” Bromley said.
“I want to put on a show that’s not just for the Gold Coast but for all of Australia to see.

More than 2000 fans are expected to turn out to see headline act Will Sparks, alongside 11 others including Bromley, Joel Fletcher, Brynny, Lock Down, Mashd N Kutcher, and Travers “The Candyman” Beynon’s son Valentino.
A line-up of music festivals ranging from Big Day Out and Summadayze to Good Vibrations have disappeared from the Gold Coast scene over the past decade.
Tickets are on sale from $110.
