With the opening rounds of the QAFL and QAFLW season underway we can reveal our next instalment of who the senior coaches have named as the ‘most reliable’ player in the squad.
Each week, we will reveal which player from each team stood out in the pre-season, with the most exciting up and coming youngster and greatest ball winner to be uncovered in the coming weeks.

Week 4: Most reliable on the field
QAFL
Aspley, Daniel Webster: Jordan Arnold
Broadbeach, Craig O’Brien: Josh Searl
Labrador, Clint Watts: Matt Cecchin
Maroochydore, Ben Jones: Jackson Bury and Dan Fleming, two players that are hard to go past in terms of their effort and performances week to week.
Morningside, Paul Egan: Darcy Cameron-Reeves
Noosa, Chris Rourke: Aaron Laskey, the three time best and fairest runner up and 2021 winner is a constant force for the Tigers week-in-week-out. Laskey is always one to watch or contain for opposition coaches.
Redland Victoria Point, Phil Carse: Matt Hammelmann and Adrian Williams
Sherwood, Jarad Marsh: Jack James
QAFLW
Aspley Hornets, Luke Glacken: Lucy Pengelley, another Aspley stalwart that is such a consistent performer for the yellow and black. Her aggression and constant knack to get involved in the play is a key reason for the Hornets success.
Bond University, Andy Lovell: Georgia Hutton
Maroochydore, Dave Hume: Kelsee Sills, the Roos captain rarely puts a foot wrong on the field and leads from the front in everything she does.
Southport Sharks, Peter Doherty: Selina Priest
UQ, Ross Clayfield: Jessi Henning and Ava Seton
Wilston Grange, Brenton Meddings: Emma Gibson, the new Gorillas recruit has shown why she was so highly touted with her arrival to the club stepping up in crucial points of that match. Her control of the game at centre half-back has impressed many in the early parts of the season.
Yeronga, Lisa Milne: Maddy Goodwin
