Work begins this morning on the new 17-storey tower — the trump card in the $345 million game-changing transformation of the iconic property.

The Gold Coast Bulletin has been given an exclusive glimpse at the interior of the luxury suites in the new tower, to be unveiled by Echo Entertainment bosses this morning.

The highly sought-after contract for the development was awarded to Probuild, one of Australia’s largest developers, and the new tower will create 500 jobs, which will be sourced from local tradespeople, during the construction phase.

Echo Entertainment Queensland boss Geoff Hogg said the 80-suite tower would set a new benchmark and feature some of Australia’s most luxurious accommodation.

“The six-star hotel is the signature piece of the transformation of Jupiters which will redefine luxury and take personalised service to a completely new level,” Mr Hogg said. “It is the centrepiece of what will be the most exciting part of the development.”

Mr Hogg said the hotel, aimed at top-end travellers and cashed-up high-rollers, particularly from Asia, would offer a seamless experience second to none, starting with the guests’ arrival, where they can opt to be met by a private butler at the airport.

All suites, ranging from one to four bedrooms, will have their own private balcony, with the top-10 levels featuring “super-suites” with huge balconies that allow guests to indulge in bathtub views of the Pacific Ocean.

“We are also creating spaces that cater to the specific needs of individual travellers, with some suites to include private karaoke parlours, in-room theatres, extra family rooms and home offices for business travellers,” Mr Hogg said.

“We are providing six-star room service, to allow guests to order from any restaurant across the property, or one of the new restaurants, and enjoy dining on their balcony overlooking the Gold Coast skyline. Suites also will be equipped with digital signage, allowing guests the flexibility to change in-room information into many different languages.”

Mr Hogg said the suites would be far larger than the average hotel room, from an 80sq m “standard” room right up to luxury 300sq m super-suites.

An iconic feature of the development will be a lounge bar and restaurant overlooking a stunning infinity pool with 360-degree views.

There also will be two new top-end restaurants and new VIP gaming rooms for guests on higher levels.

“Every fixture and fitting, from the furniture to the marble bathrooms, is exceptional and has been sourced from around the world to target the high-end market,” Mr Hogg said.

Probuild’s Queensland managing director Peter Ward, a Gold Coast resident and Gold Coast Turf Club board member, said he was excited at creating an inspirational project for the city.

“We are looking forward to creating a unique development which will feature an amazing exterior and suites unlike anything seen before in Australia,” Mr Ward said.

“We have some amazing plans for the infinity pool on the top level, which will be a major engineering feat in itself and be simply stunning with incredible views.

“As a Gold Coaster, I will also be pleased to see an end to the 5am train of lights from utes and vans heading up the M1 to work in Brisbane and ensure we get those jobs back on the Coast.”

Probuild beat out major developers including Brookfield Multiplex, Grocon, Laing O’Rourke, Leighton Contractors and Watpac to secure the Jupiters hotel tender.
