A Chevron Island site will become home to the Island’s largest marina under plans unveiled by a prolific developer.
Sherpa Property Group is already moving ahead with plans to redevelop the 1710sq m Aroona Marina site on Stanhill Drive and replace it with a three-storey project which will contain just 10 units.
Now it wants to build an eight-berth marina at the Nerang River location.
While many properties have jetties, none have anything on the same size or scale. Council staff will consider the application for the marina separately from the development which will see the 1970s-era unit bloc demolished and replaced.
The complex will have four units on its ground and first floor, with two penthouses topping the building on its third level. All units will have a minimum of three bedrooms while the penthouses will have four rooms.
Sherpa founder Christie Leet said in December 2023 he had fast-tracked his plans for the site and would begin construction in late 2024 if the development was given the green light by the council’s planning committee.
