They’re the best of the best, so why wouldn’t they enjoy A-list lifestyles and live in rock star homes.
From north Queensland to the southern suburbs of Sydney, we take a look at the homes of our State of Origin heroes.
While some have lashed out on luxury over the years, others have emerged as rock stars in their own right buying homes for their loved ones.
These are the rock star homes of our State of Origin heroes
NSW BLUES
James Tedesco
Blues and Roosters skipper James Tedesco will lead NSW on the field.
Meanwhile the fullback is also leading the way in the real estate game, securing one of the highest sales of an NRL captain.
Tedesco and his wife Maria Glinellis bought in Hunters Hill in 2022.
The couple, who married in January, spent just over $5 million in July on the renovated home which is a few doors away from family.
At the time it was believed to be the highest known NRL captain’s outlay on a home during their playing career.

The contemporary home, which first sold for $3.25 million in 2014, has five bedrooms, upstairs living area and basement parking for three cars.
There’s also an outdoor kitchen and an impressive glass edge pool.
Nathan Cleary
Superstar Panthers halfback Nathan Cleary owns a tastefully renovated four-bedroom home not far from the Panthers’ home ground in Penrith.
Cleary cleverly coughed up $1.05 million for an updated 1970s home just 5km from BlueBet Stadium in 2018.
It was a smart time to buy, with PropTrack data recording Penrith seeing a 30 per cent increase in median house prices over the past three years.
Not long after the sale, Cleary opened about why he loved Penrith.
“All my family and friends are here … the chilled lifestyle suits my personality,” he said.
“It’s not anything like the perception people may have and I love it for being so chilled.”
Tyson Frizell
Newcastle Knights star and Origin forward Tyson Frizell recently became an official Novocastrian after he and his wife Samantha bought a home in Merewether Heights.
The Frizells spent $1.38m on a two-level home just 6km from the McDonald Jones home ground stadium.
The couple, with their two young boys Axton and Easton, have been renting around Newcastle since he joined the Knights in 2021.
Marketed as a beachside sanctuary, the home has three bedrooms, two bathrooms and two living areas.
Frizell also owns a 1950s Russell Vale house, near WIN Stadium, which he bought for $430,000 in 2013 when he was joining the Dragons, along with a 1960s home in Gymea, in the Sutherland Shire, which he bought for $1.27m in 2017.
The Frizells are expecting their third child.
Latrell Mitchell
Blues back and South Sydney Rabbitohs star Latrell Mitchell made a big property move in 2022, buying a house in the southern Sydney suburb of Ramsgate Beach.
Mitchell and partner Brielle Mercy bought the modern house for $4,275,000 through McGrath Estate Agents.
The contemporary home was built in 2018 at a cost of over $700,000 at the time, featuring five bedrooms, cinema room off the main open plan stone kitchen along with a gas heated swimming pool, barbecue kitchen and a sauna.
Mitchell was previously based in Chifley since 2018 when he paid $1.45 million for a restored 1950s brick house.
Earlier this year, he put his Caffreys Flat cattle farm, near Taree, back on the market for $1.38m for his 222ha cattle farm at Caffreys Flat, near Taree.
Stephen Crichton
Stephen Crichton shocked the rugby league world when he announced his exit from the Panthers at the end of this year.
While he said it was his “hardest decision” he was more than happy to jump into the property market securing a home in Tregear in late 2022, a few suburbs across from Penrith.
The 5-bedroom home, which sits on 620 sqm, was sold in December $848,500.
The home had been completely renovated prior to its sale and has a massive rear yard.
According to respected Rugby League writer Phil Rothfield, who first reported the sale of the house to the Panthers’ outside back, Crichton bought the home for his parents and family.
Brian To’o
While it may not be the home he lives in, NSW Blues’ Brian To’o rates a mention for buying his first home for his mum and dad.
The Penrith Panthers winger, who made his Origin debut in 2021, bought a Ropes Crossing home in 2022 for his parents Fati and Fale.
The house, on the fringes of Penrith, sold for $859,100.
The home, built in 2015, has three bedrooms and two bathrooms and is on a 275 sqm block.
To’o was raised in Mount Druitt and reportedly allocated his match payments from the 2021 State of Origin series as the start to the deposit.
Cameron Murray
Blues forward and South Sydney Rabbitohs captain Cameron Murray bought his first property with fiancee Miranda Cross in late 2022.
The couple spent $3.1m on the house in Matraville off market.
The four-bedroom property has a pool which sits at the rear of the 740sq m block. It was selling for the first time since 2016 when it fetched $2,205,000.
Murray previously lived in a two-bedroom Clovelly apartment, which he bought for $1.25m in 2019.
In 2022, he also sold his Randwick investment for $1.1m, having paid $890,000 in 2017.
MAROONS
Daly Cherry-Evans
Reds skipper Daly Cherry-Evans expanded his real estate empire in 2022, diving into the Sydney property investment market.
The Sea Eagles halfback paid $580,000 for a two-bedroom apartment at Pendle Hill, in Sydney’s west.
Cherry-Evans and his wife Vessa Rockliff own their family home at Curl Curl Beach having paid for $3.4 million in 2018.
Moving 500m closer to the sand, they had offloaded their nearby $1.9 million home which the couple had bought for $1,335,000 in 2014.
The captain also retains a two-bedroom investment apartment in Freshwater that cost $500,000 in 2012.
Valentine Holmes
North Queensland Cowboys centre Valentine Holmes and his wife Natalia listed their Queenslander in Townsville this month, while snapping up another Townsville property.
The couple’s new, stunning character home was bought for $1.405 million, according to publicly available records.
Located on a 1518 sqm block, the landmark estate was once occupied by the Australian Army in World War II.
Meanwhile their 1930s Melton Hill home, which has views across the city and water, is listed for offers over $1.3 million.
The three bedroom house is on a 910 sqm block and has been renovated while maintaining its character charm.
Jai Arrow
Reds enforcer Jai Arrow bought his first home this year, three years after making the move from Queensland to Sydney.
His suburb of choice was the Bunnies’ new heartland Maroubra where Arrow bought a $2.24m home just a few streets away from the Rabbitoh’s headquarters.

The renovated three bedroom home, on 235 sqm features a striking black kitchen which adjoins a Herringbone floored living and dining space that opens to a covered deck and a west-facing garden.
Arrow retains houses in Queensland, bought when he was at the Gold Coast Titans, including a three-bedroom home in Burleigh Heads which cost $635,000 in 2019 and a 1970s home in Palm Beach which cost $750,000.
Patrick Carrigan
Reds star Patrick Carrigan cemented his future in Brisbane back in 2018 when he bought a deceased estate in Holland Park West.
The young gun outbid five other bidders, securing the house for $640,000.
The house had previously been owned by the same owner for 64 years, with Carrigan’s aunt living a few doors down.
The post-war house has three bedrooms and sits on an elevated 607sq m block.
It has timber floorboards, a corrugated iron roof, back veranda and plenty of natural light.
Ben Hunt
The St George Illawarra Dragons star halfback Ben Hunt bought a family home following his move from Brisbane.
He and nutritionist wife Bridget bought in the off-season in 2019, nabbing a home in the Sutherland Shire.
The couple paid $1.61m for the Caringbah South home which has a vast kitchen leading on to the open backyard and entertaining area.
The architect-built four-bedroom home sits on an 865 sqm parcel, also with a heated concrete slab and wood combustion fire.
Felise Kaufusi
Suspended Maroon and Dolphin player Felise Kaufusi could be watching Game 1 from his new Brisbane home.
Kaufusi, who copped a four-week ban for his late hit on Newcastle halfback Jackson Hastings in Round 3, smashed a suburb house price record on the north side of Brisbane in 2022.
Kaufusi bought one of the most beautiful homes in the Banyo area for $1.6m – a four bedroom classic Queenslander built just over 100 years ago.
