A site near a major Gold Coast shopping precinct will be transformed into a low-rise unit tower.
Immerse Projects, headed by developer John Kearney, will launch its next tower project to the market in March at Robina site on Scottsdale Drive.
Mr Kearney said the Ombre complex, sitting near Robina Town Centre and the Easy T Centre, would be aimed at sections of the housing market which had been forgotten in recent years and lessen the housing squeeze.
“The Gold Coast market is one of the strongest in the country and the demand for new housing continues to outpace supply,” he said
“This is especially the case in the local lifestyle market, which has been overlooked in recent years in the race to deliver ultra-luxury projects that are simply out of most people’s reach.
“Ombré goes against this trend by designing from the inside out, embodying a ‘homely’ approach to modern architecture that delivers spacious floor plans, and skyline and hinterland views.
“This supply is essential in a suburb under pressure with a vacancy rate of just 0.5 per cent.”
The eight-storey tower will have 95 units, ranging from one to three bedrooms.
Mr Kearney’s own building company, Greyburn, will also build the project, with construction expected to begin in late April.
It will be Greyburn’s second project in the suburb, following the completion of the nine-storey, 73-unit Robina Grand tower.
