More than $40m in sales have been recorded in developer Robert Badalotti’s new Southport tower in a single month.
The 40-level Monarch Place will be the second tower of Azzura Investments’ $3bn Imperial Square project, which, if realised will be home to the southern hemisphere’s tallest tower – the 108-storey Majesty.
Mr Badalotti unveiled the latest design for the long-gestating project in early June when he announced the project was going to market.
He said owner-occupiers and downsizers made up the bulk of new buyers in the project.
“Monarch Place marks a pivotal phase in our vision for Imperial Square and we are not surprised at the level of inquiry and current sales rates,” The Azzura Investments boss said.
Sales director Jason Paris said buyers had been “drawn to the high-end living spaces that offer both convenience and a vibrant lifestyle.”
“We’ve seen a mixture of one, two and three-bedroom apartments, which is the beauty of Monarch Place – there’s such a diverse mix of apartment offerings to suit everyone,” he said.
“Buyers were particularly impressed by the attention to detail and high-end finishes of the apartments, as well as the extensive amenities and attractions available at Monarch Imperial Club. “
The council approved the Imperial Square masterplan for the project in 2016.
It has undergone numerous design changes in recent years, with the number of towers fluctuating between three and four.
The project was first announced in late 2023.
The Kris Kowalski Architects-designed project will now be the second of four towers, with the under-construction Regal Residences already sold out and planning for the Majesty and the 68-level Imperial towers ongoing.
