Gold Coast councillors have given the green light to a 17-storey tower in central Coolangatta.
Immerse Projects, headed by builder and developer John Kearney, will begin construction of the McLean St tower in early 2024.
It will be launched to the market before Christmas and will become Mr Kearney’s second tower in the suburb, with work already underway on his Rhythm Kirra Kill project.
Mr Kearney said the work will begin once Rhythm was completed.
“We are very pleased with the approval of the McLean Street project which is the result of a lot of collaborative work with council over the past 18 months,” he said.
“This allows us to focus on delivering and finishing construction on our adjacent site, being Rhythm Kirra Hill, and look forward to moving our teams onto this site towards the end of next year along with a DA submission of another site in Tweed.”
The building was originally pitched as 19 storeys but was reduced by two levels after negotiations with the council.
