Homes from just $275k: Sydney’s cheapest streets revealed

Homes priced as affordable as $275,000 in Sydney and $32,000 in regional NSW are available in our cheapest streets. Find out where.

What lies ahead for the Australian property market?

The cheapest streets across NSW have been revealed with home values as low as $275,000 in Sydney and just $32,300 in regional areas.

With record price growth across many areas of NSW over the past 12 months, it would seem unfathomable to many that house prices could drop below even the $500K mark.

A review of price data from Ray White over the past 12 months, provided exclusively to The Daily Telegraph, has listed the top 10 most affordable streets across the Harbour City and regional NSW.

The most affordable street was Glenworth Valley Rd on an isolated stretch of the Hawkesbury River in Wendoree Park with a median value of just $275,000.

Other affordable streets were located in Rosemeadow, Austral and Airds with residential land only sales a common theme and median values less than $455,000.

“For the most part, Sydney is anything but affordable, with the most affordable streets found

further out from the CBD,” Ray White Group data analyst William Clark said.

“These streets are often main streets with little privacy, and with more noise and light pollution. They also, unsurprisingly, tend to be smaller.

“Surprisingly, those in Central Coast will still have close access to some great beaches, though will pay for it with a large commute to the city.”

Ray White Macarthur Group’s senior sales executive Julie Latham said she wasn’t surprised to see areas emerge across Macarthur including Airds.

“It’s an affordable areas for Sydney and great for families,” she said.

“It’s mostly land selling in the $400,000s, while family homes are from $600,000.

“It’s also a changing area with a lot of selling off of public housing properties.

“There’s also a lot of land and subdivisions. It’s definitely a growing area, lots of schools, close to Campbelltown and only an hour from Sydney.”

A regional breakdown of the most affordable streets found the cheapest in Wollongough St Ungarie in the Central West with median values as low as $32,300.

On the North Coast, five of the cheapest streets were in Lismore around the $230,000 mark with the cheapest street in Curlew Cr Nerong with median values just over $140,000.

Isolated areas of The Central Coast proved the cheapest in Wendoree Park, Gunderman and Spencer with Cogra Bay’s Hawkesbury River the cheapest street with a median value of $166,700.

In NSW’s south, you can pick up a home on Boorowa St in Koorawatha for as low as $175,000 with other affordable streets found in Young and Harden.
