It’s the second time the Burleigh Waters property record has been broken in four weeks and the third time in six months.
The new buyers snapped it up while trapped in lockdown in NSW after contacting a real estate agent on Instagram about possible upcoming listings.

Agent Yasmin Spencer, who sold the house said interest from the interstate market remained strong.
“We have seen a huge spike in interest from Sydney and Melbourne buyers wanting to swap life in lockdown for beautiful Burleigh and that doesn’t look like ending any time soon,” she said.

“On this occasion, I connected with our Sydney buyer via my business Instagram page and they sent their Gold Coast-based son to inspect the property before we arranged for them to join us on a virtual tour.
“They were so thrilled with what they saw that they bought the house sight unseen before we had a chance to start marketing it further afield, which goes to show how keen people are to secure their dream homes on the Gold Coast.”
It’s the latest in a stream of big-money sales for the suburb, which has become highly sought-after in the city’s property boom.
In April a Gold Coast family paid a record $2.25 million for a 40-year-old knockdown at 31 Kingfisher Crescent.
The record was shattered a fortnight later when a Chinese buyer paid $2.6 million for the property next door at 29 Kingfisher Crescent.
