Two waterfront mansions in a high-end enclave will be demolished to make way for a single giant mega-mansion.
Plans have been lodged with the Gold Coast City Council for the mansion, which is earmarked for a site on Admiralty Drive in Surfers Paradise’s Paradise Waters estate.
The plans, lodged by the Scholars Group, reveal it will be three-storeys tall and covers a 1353sq m site.
The canal-front house will be 11m tall, two metres above the area’s height limit.
The house, created by Jared Poole Design will feature:
* An underground basement with space for six cars, a wine cellar and display and a lift shaft which runs to the other floors.
* Five bedrooms, including two master suites with balconies looking out over the canals and Nerang River, a walk-in wardrobe and dressing room.
* Both a dining room and dinner room next to its large kitchen, as well as a bar and lounge.
*A pool and spa on the riverfront section of the house.
* The rooftop, which is counted as the third storey, includes a rooftop terrace with bar, living room and pool overlooking the river.
The project will be considered by the council’s planning committee later this year.
It is the latest in a series of new mansions proposed for the man-made enclave in recent years.
In 2022, Qian Wu lodged plans with council to build a three-storey mega mansion on a 911sq m site on Paradise Waters’ Commodore Drive which also slightly exceeded the 9m height limit.
