Police charge group of teens for multiple assaults at Gold Coast public transport stations and a popular Gold Coast Shopping Centre
Police have charged a group of teenage girls for multiple separate Gold Coast assaults following footage of teens brutally attacked circulating social media and sparking outrage.

Police have charged three girls following three separate assaults on the Gold Coast this year, including an attack on a 14-year-old girl at Varsity Lakes Train Station.
A Queensland Police Spokesperson said in a statement that at around 1.30pm on March 23, a 14-year-old girl was walking from a bus stop to a nearby train platform at Varsity Lakes when she was approached by three girls and a boy who allegedly demanded she give them her phone.
“It will be alleged that when she failed to hand over the phone, she was assaulted before the group fled on foot,” the statement read.
Footage of the alleged attack subsequently circulated online.
Earlier in the year on January 23 at around 4pm, a 15-year-old girl was travelling on a bus from Broadbeach Waters to Coolangatta, when she was allegedly assaulted by a girl.
The victim then exited at the Burleigh Heads bus stop.
Most recently, at around 3.45pm on March 29, a 12-year-old girl was at a Broadbeach Waters shopping centre when she was approached by two girls, who allegedly assaulted her before fleeing.
Following investigations, police have arrested three girls.
A 13-year-old girl from Ipswich has been charged with three counts of assault occasioning bodily harm in company in relation to all three incidents.
A 13-year-old Hope Island girl has been charged with two counts of assault occasioning bodily harm in company in relation to the Varsity Lakes and Broadbeach Waters incidents.
The spokeswoman said they have each been remanded in custody and are scheduled to appear at the Southport Childrens Court on Wednesday (April 2).
A 13-year-old Nerang girl has also been charged with one count of assault occasioning bodily harm in company in relation to the Varsity Lakes incident.
She is scheduled to appear at the Southport Magistrates Court at a later date.
