Police car rammed by stolen vehicle at Alexandra Hills, four teens charged

Four people aged between 12 and 14 have been charged after multiple vehicles, including a police car, were rammed by an allegedly stolen SUV. WATCH THE VIDEO

Four people aged between 12 and 14 have been charged after a police car was rammed and mounted by an allegedly stolen car.

Dashcam footage captured the wild incident, which happened at Alexandra Hills on Brisbane’s bayside on Saturday.

Officers were alerted to a stolen vehicle on Finucane Road near the intersection of Cambridge Drive at Alexandra Hills on Brisbane’s bayside around 9am.

The footage shows police boxing in the blue Mitsubishi ASX before the car reverses in a bid to get away before slamming into the side of a cement truck and Mercedes sedan.

The allegedly stolen Mitsubishi then drives up the side of the parked police car.

The incident occurred just metres away from where Matthew Field and Kate Leadbetter and their unborn son were mowed down on January 26, 2021 by a 17-year-old boy.

Two officers inside the vehicle were not injured.

Police took four teenagers including two females and two males into custody and have since charged a 13-year-old Pacific Pines girl, a 14-year-old Eagleby girl, a 13-year-old Upper Coomera boy and a 12-year-old Coomera boy with one count each of unlawful use of a motor vehicle, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, enter dwelling and commit and wilful damage of police property, as well as three counts of wilful damage.

All four have been denied police bail and are expected to appear at Cleveland Children’s Court on Monday.

The vehicle was reported stolen from Coombabah on the Gold Coast overnight Friday.
