The Duchess of Cambridge has reunited with Australian-born Princess Mary on the final day of her royal tour of Denmark.

Kate Middleton, 40, visited the Danish royal family at Christian IX’s Palace in Copenhagen.

Denmark’s monarch Queen Margrethe, who is celebrating her 50th jubilee this year, greeted Kate, along with Tasmania-raised Crown Princess Mary of Denmark, 50.

It was a case of seeing double for Kate and Aussie royal Mary, who were dressed in similar outfits – long winter coat-dresses and leather gloves, looking polished, poised and regal.

Kate sported a $5600 grey Catherine Walker coat dress with a black collar detail, while Mary wore a winter white coat, teamed with black tights and pointy-toed stilettos for the chilly conditions, that she had worn previously.

Both royals, known for the flawless personal style, wore pearls and simple black bags for the occasion.

During their joint appearance, the Duchess of Cambridge and Princess Mary walked across the Amalienborg courtyard and greeted the public, before making their way to Frederik VIII’s Palace – where Mary lives with her family – for a private lunch.

The future queens first met when Kate visited Denmark in 2011 with her husband Prince William and father-in-law, Prince Charles.

Mary and her husband Prince Frederik, who is heir to the throne in Denmark, also visited the British royals in 2016.

The couples previously attended Royal Ascot together.

Crown Princess Mary wed Prince Frederik in 2004 after they met at a pub in Sydney during the 2000 Olympics.

In a message posted on Twitter earlier this month announcing her trip, Kate wrote that she was “looking forward to learning from experts, parents and practitioners about Denmark’s approach to early childhood”.

“Denmark is a beacon of best practice in its approach to the early years, with a culture which prioritises the best start in life”.

AUSSIE STYLE

While in Demark, Kate proved once again that she can turn her hand to whatever a royal engagement requires – and she can do it on her own.

In a less formal engagement, Kate wore a pair of $220 Blundstone boots from the Australian footwear brand, which was founded in Mary’s hometown of Tassie.

Kate sported a $195 green Seeland wax jacket and a pair of black jeans to meet local children at a kindergarten, where she took part in wood chopping.
