Video clip shows Donald Trump cheating on the golf course

Social media users are having a field day after a caddy’s shameless act during Donald Trump’s round of golf in Scotland was captured on camera.

A clip that appears to show US President Donald Trump cheating on the golf course during his trip in Scotland has gone viral on social media.

Mr Trump is an avid golfer and regularly boasts about his golfing prowess.

In the video making waves on social media, a caddie appears to walk ahead of the president, who is in his golf cart, and drops a ball slowly in the path of the cart.

Mr Trump then gets out of the cart and takes his shot of the dropped ball.

“Trump working hard to bring down grocery prices,” the caption on the viral video says.

The phrase “commander in cheat” was soon trending on social media after the video was viewed thousands of times.

“The video of Trump’s caddie doing an Oddjob Slazenger drop isn’t a big deal; cheating at golf isn’t nearly the worst thing about Trump,” wrote The Atlantic’s Tom Nichols.

“But watching the cult of personality try to explain it away is really some creepy North Korean level stuff.”

Social media users were having a field day.

“Oh my God this is so pathetic. Trump’s cronies drop the golf ball in front of him. He pretends to notice it at that spot. Today, MAGA influencers are tweeting out almost identical messages about his golf swing. We really are in North Korea,” a user wrote.

“It is a known fact that had Trump played professional golf, he would have ranked above Tiger Woods and been the winningest golfer in history. Even at 80, with a little more practice, he could win on the Tour,” another commenter wrote.

“I love how the guy throws the ball back like he’s trying to make it look as though he didn’t put it there lol,” another commented.

PLANE PASSENGER TACKLED AFTER TRUMP THREAT

A man sparked chaos on a flight to Glasgow by yelling out “death to Trump” and “death to America”.

Shocking footage shows the moment passengers on the easyJet flight from London’s Luton Airport tackled the man mid-flight after he threatened the US President and yelled out “Find the bomb on the plane’”.

He then screamed “Allahu Akbar,” which translates to “God is great” in Arabic, several times.

A passenger held him to the ground as another passenger sat on him, telling him “Sit down. Don’t move.”

The flight crew could then be heard announcing that the plane would be “landing very shortly” before other passengers began to question the man.

“Do you have a bomb?” one person asked, as others asked the man about whether he had been drinking or taking drugs.

The incident came as Donald Trump’s visit to Scotland entered its second full day, with the US President agreeing a trade deal with EU Commission president Ursula von der Leyen after he played a round of golf.

Authorities boarded the aircraft once it arrived in Glasgow and arrested the man. The 41-year-old “remains in custody,” Scottish police said.

A spokesperson for easyJet said: “Flight EZY609 from Luton to Glasgow this morning was met by police on arrival in Glasgow, where they boarded the aircraft and removed a passenger due to their behaviour on-board.

“easyJet’s crew are trained to assess all situations and act quickly and appropriately to ensure that the safety of the flight and other customers are not compromised at any time.

“The safety and wellbeing of our customers and crew is always easyJet’s highest priority.”

TRUMP DEMANDS TOP CELEBS BE PROSECUTED

Donald Trump demanded that former Vice President Kamala Harris be prosecuted — along with Beyoncé, Oprah Winfrey and Al Sharpton fees that were paid to the stars during the 2024 election.

Mr Trump claimed that the stars were paid millions of dollars by Ms Harris’ campaign for appearances — and that the money amounted to illegal payments to endorse Ms Harris’ failed presidential bid.

“I’m looking at the large amount of money owed by the Democrats, after the Presidential Election,” Mr Trump began on Truth Social.

“These ridiculous fees were incorrectly stated in the books and records. YOU ARE NOT ALLOWED TO PAY FOR AN ENDORSEMENT. IT IS TOTALLY ILLEGAL TO DO SO.”

“Can you imagine what would happen if politicians started paying for people to endorse them. All hell would break out.”

During the 2024 cycle, Ms Harris’ campaign drew criticism over $US165,000 ($A251,000) payments from Beyonce’s production company, Parkwood Entertainment, for an October 26 Houston rally.

Beyonce’s mother has publicly denied reports that her daughter was paid up to US$11 million to speak at the Harris rally.

Winfrey’s production company, Harpo Productions, was paid $US1m ($A1.5m) for a live stream event she helped organise in Michigan. Ms Harris’ team also sent $US500,000 ($A762,000) to Sharpton’s National Action Network.

President Trump cited different numbers in his Truth Social post. It was not immediately clear where they come from.

“Eleven Million Dollars to singer Beyoncé for an ENDORSEMENT (she never sang, not one note, and left the stage to a booing and angry audience!), Three Million Dollars for ‘expenses,’ to Oprah, Six Hundred Thousand Dollars to very low rated TV ‘anchor,’ Al Sharpton (a total lightweight!), and others.”

“They should all be prosecuted! Thank you for your attention to this matter.”

US TARIFFS DEADLINE FIRM, ‘NO EXTENSIONS’

The US deadline of August 1 for imposing tariffs on its trading partners is firm and there will be no extensions, Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick said.

“So no extensions, no more grace periods. August 1, the tariffs are set. They’ll go into place. Customs will start collecting the money, and off we go,” Mr Lutnick told “Fox News Sunday.”

After the levies kick in, President Donald Trump – who was negotiating in Scotland with European Union officials – is still willing to keep talking, Mr Lutnick said.

MIGRANT DETENTIONS REACH RECORD LEVELS

The number of migrants detained by US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) reached record numbers in June and a vast majority do not have criminal records, according to AFP analysis of official data.

Private prison corporations, running the United States’ already-huge and expanding detention system, are set to benefit from the Trump administration’s unprecedented deportation drive, data shows.

A record 60,254 people were held in ICE facilities last month, up from 40,500 in January before Mr Trump took office.

Of those, 71 per cent have no criminal record compared to 54 per cent last year, ICE data from the end of the 2024 fiscal year shows.

The Trump administration aims to increase the number of beds available for detainees to 100,000 by the end of the year, more than doubling the capacity available in 2024.

A new migrant camp dubbed “Alligator Alcatraz” opened on July 1 and is built on a disused airfield surrounded by alligator-filled swamps deep in the Florida Everglades.

Mr Trump has also said he would like to turn the Guantanamo Bay navy station in Cuba into a 30,000-bed facility.

Human Rights Watch has published a report describing abusive treatment at three facilities in Florida, where migrants are reportedly sleeping on floors and women are held in cells with exposed toilets visible to men in nearby rooms.

Soft-sided facilities, which are quick-to-build tent structures increasingly used by ICE, are also raising alarm bells.

The private companies running large parts of the detention system are set to profit from the expansion.

More than four out of every five detainees were held at one of the United States’ 62 privately-operated facilities as of June 2025, according to AFP analysis of the ICE data.
