Eric Trump blows up as Melania and Ivanka snub former US president Donald Trump

Eric Trump claims the US justice system is “rigged” while former First Lady Melania appears to isolate herself from her husband.

Eric Trump has gone on the attack in defence of his father Donald Trump in a series of angry tweets, alleging the US justice system is “rigged”.

Eric, the second son from Donald Trump’s first marriage to the late Ivana Trump, took to Twitter as his father faced court.

He claimed the daughter of the judge overseeing Mr Trump’s case had previously worked for US Vice President Kamala Harris.

“The swamp runs deep!” the businessman and TV presenter tweeted.

“They are all hand picked. It is all prearranged. This corruption is on a different level.”

The loyal son tweeted an image of Donald Trump in court with the caption “BOSS!!”.

Eric also posted a doctored image of the former US president walking with a large crowd behind him down Fifth Avenue.

“One of a kind!” Eric tweeted with American flag emojis.

Meanwhile, Melania and Ivanka Trump appeared to leave Mr Trump on his own to face charges relating to alleged affairs with a porn star and Playboy bunny.

The former First Lady and First Daughter were notable absences during Trump’s return to New York to face an expected 34 counts of business fraud over alleged “hush money” payments to Stormy Daniels and Karen McDougal during the 2016 presidential campaign.

Trump left Mar-a-Lago yesterday joined by Eric Trump and an entourage of campaign support staff, including senior campaign adviser Jason Miller, spokesman Steve Cheung, former White House aide Dan Scavino, and lawyer Boris Epshteyn.

Mrs Trump was a notable absence from the list of supporters aboard Trump’s private jet to that took off from Florida that were reported by The New York Times.

Mary Trump, the former president’s niece, said on MSNBC that both Melania and Ivanka would distance themselves from Trump’s affairs and the alleged hush money payments to cover them up.

“I understand that Melania and Donald very publicly had dinner together the night of the indictment announcement. But I don’t think that Ivanka or Melania are going to want to be very involved in this, neither one of them will be vocal about it, and I think Ivanka made her choice a long time ago to go her separate way,” Ms Trump said.

“She understands that her future does not lie with remaining connected to her father, either personally publicly or politically.”

She added that Ivanka’s show of support last week was “about as little as she could have possibly said”.

While Ivanka was not seen among Trump’s entourage, she posted an Instagram message of support after the indictment was announced last week.

“I love my father, and I love my country. Today, I am pained for both. I appreciate the voices across the political spectrum expressing support and concern,” she wrote.

Eric Trump and Don Trump Jr, however, would likely remain by their father’s side throughout the trial, Ms Trump added.

“Unfortunately, on the other hand, we will likely continue to hear a lot from Ivanka’s brothers,” she said.
