Catherine, Princess of Wales’ colourful moment a ‘dig at Meghan Markle’

The Princess of Wales wore bright pink during a public appearance sparking wild speculation among royal fans.

Is Prince Harry exploiting his family to make money?

Catherine, Princess of Wales stunned in a pink suit as she visited a food bank in Windsor.

The royal joined her husband, Prince William, at Windsor Foodshare on Thursday local time to hear about the support offered to struggling families.

According to a report in The Sun, the couple also helped volunteers to sort food donations and prepare packages for the charity’s clients to collect later that day.

The princess was decked out in a Hobbs London Tilda Coat in fuchsia pink which she paired with a matching Hobbs jumper and black pants.

Catherine has worn the look before continuing her insistence on recycling old looks: she last wore the colourful ensemble in November 2021, when she visited a school in London as part of her Early Years work.

During the royal visit, the couple met with staff who run the service, before learning more about the charity’s founding principles which centre around treating everyone as equals and making no judgments on their circumstances.

Catherine’s colourful outfit comes despite her sister-in-law Meghan Markle claiming in her Netflix series to have worn more muted colours when a working royal so she could “fit in”.

“Most of the time that I was in the UK, I rarely wore colour. There was thought in that,” she said.

“To my understanding, you can’t ever wear the same colour as Her Majesty if there’s a group event, but then you also shouldn’t be wearing the same colour as one of the other, more senior members of the family.

“So I was like, well what’s a colour that they’ll probably never wear? Camel? Beige? White? So, I wore a lot of muted tones, but it also was so I could just blend in. Like, I’m not trying to stand out here.

“So there’s no version of me joining this family and trying to not do everything I could to fit in. I don’t want to embarrass the family.”

Windsor Foodshare marks its 10th anniversary this year. It provides short-term weekly help through food parcels to any household where there is a chance of going hungry.

The prince and princess met those running the service to learn more about the support it offers, and its principles of treating everyone as equals without judgement.

They also heard about the impact of the cost of living crisis.

Demand for the service has increased recently and last year it fed more than 7000 residents.

Earlier this week, Catherine met experts helping her new campaign to support kids.

She cut a professional figure in a black Alexander McQueen blazer and white shirt at the Windsor Castle event.

She vowed to help the nation’s youngsters improve their social and emotional skills as she met an eight-member advisory board working with her Royal Foundation Centre for Early Childhood.

The smiling princess told the early years experts: “I was talking to the children this morning — the excitement and nervousness gets mixed up together in the same pot.”

Catherine is next week expected to launch a new phase of her work, which highlights the importance of a child’s first five years of life.

She added: “I’m really excited for next week. Lots coming up.

“Today I just want to think about and discuss what next, really. How do we keep this conversation going?

“This campaign is really laying the foundation of why early childhood matters.”
