‘Huge blow’: Prince Harry denied Royal honour at Queen’s final vigil

New claims emerge about what the warring brothers did on the night the Queen died as King Charles denies Prince Harry a major honour.

Royal sources claim Prince Harry ate dinner separately from Prince William and King Charles III on the night the Queen died, just days before the warring brothers shocked the world with their Fab Four reunion.

Instead of joining his father, King Charles III and his older brother at Birkhall, Prince Harry remained at Balmoral with the Queen’s other children; Prince Andrew, Prince Edward and Princess Anne, The Daily Mail reports.

A source told the Daily Mail: “Two dinners were being hosted on the royal estate that night and there was a clear divide: One was for the new king and his heir, the other was for the rest of the family”.

The reported separate dinners — and the fact the brothers allegedly did not see one another at all on the evening of the Queen’s death — makes their public reunion even more surprising.

Meanwhile, Oprah Winfrey — who sat down with the Sussexes for their bombshell interview last year — said she hoped that “burying the dead” would help Prince Harry and Meghan Markle finally make “peace” with the royal family .

“I think in all families — you know, my father passed recently, this summer — and when all families come together for a common ceremony, the ritual of, you know, burying your dead, there’s an opportunity for peacemaking,” she told Extra.

“And hopefully, there will be that.”

It comes as King Charles III banned Prince Harry from wearing his military uniform at the final vigil to Queen Elizabeth II, according to royal sources.

Prince Andrew, however, will be allowed to wear his official military honours as a “special mark of respect” to the Queen in what the Duke of Sussex’s biographer called a “huge blow”.

De facto Sussex spokesman Omid Scobie revealed the major snub shortly after Prince Harry’s loving tribute to his “commander in chief”, for whom he served in two tours of Afghanistan.

“I understand that, unlike Prince Andrew, Prince Harry will NOT be allowed to wear uniform at the final vigil in Westminster Hall,” Mr Scobie said.

“No doubt a huge blow for the Duke of Sussex, who served for 10 years and this morning spoke of the Queen being his “commander-in-chief’”.

It came after royal sources said Prince Andrew, a veteran of the Falklands War, would be given a special allowance to wear his military colours at the final vigil for the Queen on Wednesday, despite being a non-working member of the Royal family like his nephew.

Prince Andrew stood out in a civilian suit and attire next to the King and the royal family dressed in official military uniform as he followed the Queen’s coffin through Edinburgh.

He was called a “sick old man” by a man wearing a Melbourne A-league jumper as he passed behind the Queen’s hearse in a video of the altercation. Police led the man away as he shouted “disgusting” during a scuffle.

A 22-year-old man was later arrested “in connection with a breach of the peace on the Royal Mile”, police said.

Prince Andrew was exiled and stripped of many of his Royal honours following his connections to disgraced paedophile Jeffrey Epstein, despite his continual denials of allegations of any wrongdoing.

While he will not wear his official uniform to most of the ceremonial events honouring The Queen, he will reportedly be allowed to wear it for the final vigil following the coffin procession to Westminster Hall.

“The Palace have yet to say whether this exception also applies to Prince Harry,” Mr Scobie said.

Prince Harry offered an olive branch to his father in his statement to the Queen, saying “We now honour my father in his new role as King Charles III”.

The father and son “ate separately in a different house” on the night of the Queen’s death, a source has claimed.

The Duke of Sussex was the last to arrive at Balmoral after being refused a seat on the RAF plane that took Prince William, Prince Andrew and Prince Edward to Scotland.

When Prince Harry did arrive, he did not break bread with the new King, Prince William or Camilla, Queen Consort.
